Cannabis Use Disorder: redefined

Welcome to my nightmare... today's inspiration came by way of one of my closest friends, 25% Purple Urkle, $10 per eight (best find for the money yet,) outdoor grown by High State here in the police state of Washington. In addition, I added a generous pile of trichomes from my grinder... Two hit quitter for sure. Damn, I am struggling with typing this... lmgdfartfo! Moving on...
Here is my definition for CUD (as if the acronym isn't bad enough, right?)
Cannabis Use Disorder; the disorder, mayhem, and potential violence that occurs when access to cannabis is negatively influenced by natural or unnatural forces.

Here is a link to the actual DSM-5 clinical definition and relating conditions, treatment, so on and so forth. I strongly urge all to take a peek.
I hope I did all of this right, e.g. link. I am new somewhat. Haven't been active, though, for a month or more.... Health becomes more demanding as we age. "What a drag it is getting old..." I hope my humor is taken as intended and has touched all with a smile, which in my eyes are priceless.
Peace and Cannabis to all

Ok, I read the article, and I'm trying to find the humorous take away, anything we say to defend our position as cannabis users feeds right into her secondary traits of someone with cannabis use disorder, pretty sure the amotivational behavior is more in the recreational user than the medicinal user. I'm a heavy chronic user, I hold a 40 hour a week job, I own a $150000 house and I'm putting my son through college not exactly "amotivational".How many times has she been under fire, had to clear a building, or was left with the options "bad" or "worse"? How many memories keep her awake? How many times has she found herself angry, near violently angry, with no clear cause or resolution?
I might be projecting... all papered up big wig therapist can't tell me what's wrong with me unless they have similar experiences. I've tried therapy as a child and again as a 38 year old, both times it made me more angry than I was in the first places.

Sorry, I have a hard time when non-aflicted people pass judgement on people looking for relief and tranquility. I'm not saying that is you, just airing out some anger.
Random thought: should I add cannabis use disorder to my list of diagnoses?

Yeah, I wasn't passing judgement, but I am always open to any opinion. I have suffered the horrors of addiction for over 40 years, oddly, during those years I did not use cannabis, but wish I would have. Cannabis gave me my life back but I am not insensitive to those who experience CUD. Indeed, I understand powerlessness and unmanageability too damn well. My humor was geared towards how all of it came to be and the how and why of it all AND how a person that is professionally diagnosed with that disorder can be subjected to a plethora crap via our mental healthcare system. From what you wrote, it sounds like you know exactly what I am talking about. More importantly, If what I shared brought out some things you need to say or deal with, then I am grateful. Like I said, "Welcome to my nightmare" which often results in such misunderstandings and or provocations and that is not necessarily a bad thang. Thanks for stepping up and responding. Awesome!
Peace and cannabis to all

Yeah, if I really let them know what is in my head I'd have 1*accommodations at the local sanitarium, and this divine plant circumvents everything that would lead to that outcome. Call it CUD, cannabis dependency, I call it keeping my ass out of trouble.

I think it seems like bullshit. Lol

Not sure about adding CUD to your list

EXACTLY! I think the word "Disorder" suggesst a negative and it produces negativity in many on the outside looking in at you. My "Pun" basically was saying just what you wrote: My "Disorder" occurs when I cannot get the cannabis I need or when some doctor or therapists decides that my use of cannabis is medically unsound, etc and will not treat me unless I quite. Quitting is unsound and would put me at great risk, so there isn't a choice for me, I will stay with this magical plant. For heavens sake, how long will it take for our healthcare system to claw its way out of the dark ages...
Again, thanks for keeping this going for a bit. It is "essential" reaching out to other like-minded people and opposition, too,
Good night

I know the Senate is supposed to vote on cannabis' removal from the controlled substance list next month.

yeah, it is going federal, they already have their fingers deep in the money side of it, which is a good thing. Cannabis was illegalized to stamp out the hemp growers in America and DuPont was the driving force. Considering they were awarded the nylon patents after the war and their number one competitor was Hemp... The rest is history. High Times Magazine printed an issue back in the early 90's titled "How This Plant Can Save The Planet." All this information is in the main article. It is shocking to learn the facts behind this... I am trying to get that back issue from High Times. I strongly urge everyone to read that article. High Times challenges anyone to disprove the facts they dug up.

The Fed has had their eyes opened---
not to the benefits of cannabis in both medical and recreational settings
- but to the tax revenue that cannabis contributes to various state and local entities.

Example - Our town got its first recreational dispensary in '18, and that number has grown to around 12 (locally).
By the end of fiscal year '18, cannabis sales contributed over $4,000,000 of tax revenue to our county. (not including other weed tourism incomes such as food & hotels)
Roads are being paved, homeless shelters and centers have been built, and crime in the vicinity of dispensaries has dropped considerably --- because of legal, taxed weed.

Of course, elected officials rarely, if ever, see much more than the $4,000,000 part of the equation.
The Fed is worse. They have NO concern for local - even regional economies and communities - they just see 50 states worth of taxes to collect. --- Not one, single dollar will go back into the communities that provide the revenue - in fact, regulations and licenses will begin to squeeze all cultivators except for R.J. Reynolds, who will be converting their crops from tobacco to cannabis.
