Soo this Red Congolese has me pondering an interesting thought.... What is the future of Cannabis in our society say 25 years from now.. is it going to be a sweet cornucopia of green love for everyone or is it going to be a Government dominated sea of Corporate rag weed. I mean we are all excited for cannabis to be legal and free for all of us but...its a big money industry. Big corporations lobbying for laws to get complete control of the industry and put small time players on the wayside. I almost see mass produced rag weed produced in fancy packaging by giant conglamerants as our main source of choices and making homegrown weed outlawed in order to keep the supply and demand in their favor..kinda bleak but when it come to money anything is possible. What's you thoughts on the future?

Not really weed related, other than smokers drive and stay in hotels, but have any of you given thought to what is going to happen to all the hotels along the interstate when self driving cars are the norm? Older folks will point out the few that are left, and tell their grand-kids about how you used to have to drive your own car, and that meant stopping to sleep the night. Of course the kids won't relate.

$50/ounce as has been seen in Oregon is already here. Not going to buy any but what are the chances it's dank? I'll bet it gets a person high, which is all I asked for in the dim times when you bought what was available. My own outdor legal four (Oregon) home grown is pretty good, not top shelf and cost me something like 60 bucks for 7 pounds including the cost of seed. I'm not complaining. I'm addicted to the bud porn on this site and will probably some day invest in indoor hardware so that I can try my hand at upping my game.

Top shelf weed is different enough that there will always be a market for it but the competition will be fierce so it had better memorably great if the grower wants to stay in business. Seeds are easy to come by, the market is fragmented and acceptably decent weed is so cheap I don't see how corporations could ruin it for local/small grower - dispensaries.

Corporations don't like markets where there is easy entry for competition. That said, lobbyists might force markets into a bottleneck where they could dominate. I just don't see that happening. Then again, I don't know anything, I'm just saying that if a corporation wants to charge huge prices for average weed, they can suck my dick.
