Canna butter/ oil capsules: easy for the elderly

Hello,

I'm looking for the easiest way to turn medical marijuana buds into capsules. My mother recently got a MMJ prescription and she turned her first batch of buds into butter, for cookies.

She does not want to be eating cookies as medicine, which is understandable, so I'm looking for the easiest way for her to change her buds into an oil that she could put into capsule form.

She will always have a small amount of buds, about an oz or less.

I only have experience with butter making thus far, and I have always enjoyed the baking process.

1. What would be the best oil to slow cook with her medicine? I was thinking coconut oil.

2. What would you add for better absorption into the stomach. We bought soy lechithin granules at a health food store last time I was down visiting. Mixing a small amount of this in with the oil would aid digestion?

Any suggestions at all would be great. I think I am going to try this method myself for my next batch, which hopefully would be later today.

Thank you!

I bought gelatin capsules and an oral medicine syringe for filling them. I'm going to make the oil stronger than I usually would with butter so 1/2 tsp of oil will contain about 0.3 of a g of shake.

I'll throw in some soy lecithin granules in each one as well.

Hopefully this works well. Won't be as delicious as eating cookies, but the end result should be the same.

i'm 60 and way to lazy to make oil or butter the old way. i have no idea why people would make cookies etc when you can just put some coconut oil saturated with pot into capsules and know exactly how much you are taking each time. coconut oil, lecithin and buds.

if you have a little extra cash hanging around, and you aren't really good at making oil the old way, i'd recommend you get the magical butter machine. there is a magical butter thread (mb2). it's a handy little unit that doesn't require you to stir the butter or oil for hours. you have to decarb but then you put it in the machine and in an hour you have canna oil.

people will say don't get the magical butter machine because blah, blah, blah. trust me, it's quick and simple and it works great.

i've made 4 batches of it so far. quick and easy.

good luck.

I just made the coconut oil in the crockpot method. Tomorrow I'll go about putting it into capsules with the lecithin.

I personally like the cookies because they're kinda festive. You can bring them anywhere and they're fun to share.

But, as far as medicating goes, the caps seems to be the best.

I'll have to experiment a bit with the potency though.

Thank you!
