Canada's Best Doctor

If you are outside of London you have to go through MCRCI who charge like $400 to see him (or did 3 months ago when they contacted me back), if he was the best doc he would not be working with people who exploit the sick like that.
His support for marijuana is great but I have a problem getting past sick people being exploited.

best doc would be one who wouldn't charge for a prescription
And the BEST weed dealer wouldn't charge for weed.

But everyone needs to cover costs, and get paid for their time.

I am a patient. I paid $350.00 for my prescription.

And TOTALLY FUCKING WORTH IT!

When this IS legalized - then NO, people shouldn't have to pay extra for a prescrption.

But right NOW - it is not easy in every part of Canada to just GET one. So you pay.

I don't think they are ALL necessarily the devil.

Health Canada SHOULD be the ones supporting this. THEY should pay doctors towrite prescriptions and the patients should NOT have to pay.

Under a new government, maybe this will be a reality.

Health Canada needs to actually do some health studies so they can use research instead of there opinions. Or even read some of the other medical journals already published by other researchers. Then they need to give cannabis a din number making every medical patient able to claim there prescription threw health insurance. Oh ya I almost forgot the most important thing end this bullshit prohibition.

Peace

400 dollars for an appointment is exploiting the sick and taking advantage of a bullshit and artificially created market. I know some doctors, very very well, who do not charge such ludicrous fees. It's just another appointment for them because that's exactly how it should be.

They also don't go around advertising themselves as such and generally are no different than any other doctor who is actually interested in your well being and not their own personal self interests.

If the Cons get back in next election I'm moving to......Switzerland.....ya nice and cheesy there. And their pipes are huge...how about loading this bowl. The guy in the middle is a King,,,so he gets to use the biggest one. You load that one via wheelbarrow and pitch fork.

dang, its only 200 where im from (new England) and sometimes I feel like that's not worth it. I never went and used it at a dispensary, and never had to show it to anyone about my grow. I guess doing it legally (in the states eyes) is worth it.

*you also get your money back if you don't get accepted

I agree. Clinics lookiing to profit from the mmpr have to charge $.

But a normal doc office who will sign your script only if you pay him/her 20 or 50 or 100 or more dollars is unfair.

What's unfair is I can't just go to ANY doctor, and get a prescription.

I could get a fucking prescription for OXY'S or PERCS or something like that - if they were necessary (if I was in a savage car/ lawnmower accident).

I know TOO MANY people, who have gotten in some form of accident, prescribed Percocets - and then from that moment on their lives were ruled by pain management and addiction.

But I have no family doctor, and so at the walk-in clinic, or hospital emerg - they would look at me like a criminal if I even asked them for a MMJ prescription. Although there are some people that are NOW CRIMINALS - and it all stemmed from overly addictive prescription drugs.

INFORMATION. DOCTORS NEED INFORMATION.

They may be Waaaaaay better at finding that information, or even looking - out West.

But in Northern Ontario, Thunder Bay, where I live - the doctors SUCK at knowing anything about Medical Marijuana.

If they knew - they would prescribe. How could they not? They are DOCTORS and their whole career is predicated by one thing: HELPING PEOPLE.

I do not think they are the bad guys. They are willfully ignorant - at the worst. I'm more likely to think, for the now at least - that most of them just don't know any better.

Aaaaaaaaand big PHARMA has such a nice YAGHT.

Where's MMJ's yacht?

Also Yessica due to the fact that you are using mmj for mental health reasons your odds a regular doc or psychiatrist would sign are extremely low because of the
Typical policies of mental health professionals and mental health centers not to prescribe drugs of abuse to mental health patients.

They ARE apprehensive to prescribe MMJ for schizophrenia and psychosis, and for in-patient treatment programs. Or probably any kind of program where you have to sign a form saying you will NOT use drugs or alcohol during your time in said program. THAT will need to be changed in the future, in my opinion. At least for MMJ.

Interestingly enough - I have a friend that just got signed on to a rigorous out-patient many-week intensive program for their mental problems, and they are just going to say that they are taking the prescribed drugs - while the whole time being on MMJ. The prescribed drugs made them very ill - same as me.

Psychotic disorders, are not the same as what I personally suffer from (depression and anxiety).

"Psychosis
Psychosis is a serious but treatable medical condition that reflects a disturbance in brain functioning. A person with psychosis experiences some loss of contact with reality, characterized by changes in their way of thinking, believing, perceiving and/or behaving. For the person experiencing psychosis, the condition can be very disorienting and distressing. Without effective treatment, psychosis can overwhelm the lives of individuals and families."

Delta-9 THC has been found to exacerbate psychotic disorders. BUT - other cannabinods (like cannabidiol) have been shown to help psychotic symptoms.

I don't think enough is known about it yet. I was definitely asked on the forms I filled out for a MMJ prescription, and by my doctor, if I had a history of schizophrenia or psychosis in my family.

There has been evidence for the proposed use of MMJ for the treatment of:
- depression
- anxiety
- anorexia nervousa
- PTSD
- Fibromyalgia

I haven't read anything specifically about bulimia - but I can tell you from personal experience that MMJ helped.

I would REALLY love to see a study done, on the use of MMJ (high CBD or another cannabinoids, NO to very low THC) on psychotic or schizophrenic patients.

A lot of people could potentially be helped.
