Hey friends, Has anybody ever used their old soil as a base and add stuff to it like worm castings, compost, ect... if so I'm wondering how it worked out.

Yea. Its easier if you are organic. If using salt based nutrients you might need to flush the data out first.
^^, I just dump the used soil and roots into large open bins outside, add some compost, turn and leave it. So it gets rained on and worms find there own way in thru the drain hole.

I have no idea how other people do it but I figured farmers have been doing something like that on a large scale for hundreds of years.

Ill be reusing a bunch of ff soil.. Mixing w my compost and somee dry nutes.. Charge it w a microbial tea and go from there... I would highly recommend reusing you soil.. I wouldn't really recommend reusing soil u bottle fed syn nutes to.. I mean i guess u can flush it and let it sit.. It should be ok.. But id rather just go buy peat bails in that case.. Just so u know whats in their

I do the same. I'm organic. As I'm growing in one batch I bust the old root balls up and reammend for it to sit until the next grow.

i would recommend doing something like this... This is what i do... But i dont let ir sit till the next grow.. As im outdoors.. And i leave my soil out during the winter.. Which u could i guess and be ok... But i usually mix mine nowish or sooner in the pot it will be growing my plants in.. If possible.. That way u make a good food web.. I even put a bucket the size the plants will be in before i transplant in thw final home right in the middle of the final pot.. So im not digging the middle of the pot out disturbing the web.. I also use smart pots.. But i do this in plastic too
