I feel like the hardest thing to do is to start my grows. idk why but i always end up with many of my seedlings dying in various ways within the first 48-72 hrs of planting them. my germination rate is solid. 3 days and they're ready. (wet rag, plastic bag method) . i know this may sound like the simplest part of the process to most you guys but i would appreciate it if you could leave comments explaining what you personally do, starting after what i just described. germinating the seeds .. once they pop and are ready to go what are you're guy's next steps up until transplanting for veg. even if just a few people left some feedback that would be great. thanks alot.

I've been starting my seeds in one gallon smart pots. I place them under a 200 Watt CFL and I hang the lights about 4" inches above the container. I check the water by lifting the container each day. After a while you can tell what the water level is just by the weight of the container. I like to wait until I think there is only 30% water left in the container before I water them again. I start feeding at week 3 or 4. Usually when some of the leaves are starting to turn yellow or look like a lighter green then the top leaves. I never do the paper towel method. I just soak for 15-20 min then put the seeds directly in soil. If they don't pop within 5 days, I'll use a toothpick to fish around and help them up.

Stop "wet rag / plastic".
You are adding the possibility of damaging them during the 1st transplant.

Get a seedling starting tray.
https://www.google.com/search?q=seedling+starting+tray

Get some grow plugs:
https://www.google.com/search?q=grow+plugs

Or, get a prefilled tray:
https://www.google.com/search?q=rapid+rooter+grow+plug+tray

Follow instructions. I get about a 90% seedling survival rate.

May sure you have a dome cover that has a hole in the top for ventilation.

Get a hyrometer:
https://www.google.com/search?q=hygrometer

Make sure you pay attention to the moisture.
Get a cool mist or ultrasonic vaporise and keep the level up.

Get a seedling warming pad:
https://www.google.com/search?q=seedling+warming+pad

Get a temp / humidity controller to run it all:

I agree, stop pre germing as it only invites problems. Plant your beans directly into your growing medium/seed starter. And just keep the medium moist. Far too often boggy/to wet conditions are to blame on seedling failures......

Always have great germ rates with the wet paper towel inside a plastic bag method.. 100% most of the time. Sometimes you just have bad seeds...

I use wet paper towels/ziploc bag and place in between 2 dinner plates until tap root shows. Then I use a tweezers to place straight into soil, and then into humidity dome until seedling breaks soil. Some people make the mistake of leaving seedlings in dome too long causing stretch/weak/stems, as soon as you see calyx leaves pop-up remove them. The only time this didn't work for me was due to fungus gnat larvae present in my medium, which is easy to diagnose cuz seedlings will die almost immediately for no apparent reason.

Good Luck!

It sounds like you have your light a little close. Seedlings don't need that much light at all for the 1st few days. They don't need much water either. Just enough to wet the top of the soil is how I do it. Most of the time I just put some seedling starter soil in a small pot and drop the seed in. I've only had 1 seed out of about 13 now that didn't pop out the soil after a couple days to a week. I just popped an Auto LA Diva yesterday. I had to get my exacto knife out and do some surgery because the shell was stuck to the seedling. It was having a problem shedding the seed shell, so I did surgery and it was sucessful. That was my 1st time having that happen.
