Can you grow under led light bulbs ?

Hey all! Just a quick question on led lighting. I noticed a lot of manufacturers producing led grow lights in the red and blue spectrum but I was wondering if it was possible to grow using just 5000k and 3500k led bulbs?
A 15 watt led is equivalent to about 100 watts so could I possibly run say 6 of these ? Or what about these bulbs ?http://www.feit.com/fixtures/led_fixtures/led_luminaires/led_yard_lights/c4000-5k-led
Could I run say 2-3 of these bulbs ?
My grow box is 18x18x50inch tall so it's small and I'll be growing autos preferably the fast and vast autos. I'm not looking for pounds here, if I could get two ounces I'd be one happy camper . Thank you in advance for all the help you have given me!

I've been doing some research on leds and from what I can gather you can't cause it doesn't offer a full spectrum of light cri is the word they used to describe that. They said leds were around 82 cri and cfls were 100 but that article was dated back in 2013 and ik leds have came along way since then .

I can't be the only person with this question. With leds wattage so low you could power twice as many lights as your could cfls.

if you want to be uber cheap get 5 or 6 2700k A19 bulbs and pop the covers off (~$50 with socket adapters and power strips)

you'd be lookign at about $150-$200 to get a more efficient cob assembly in there

Surely he can do 18"x18" under $100? a cxm22 at 75 watts ?

I dont see why not, but theres much better options for the same money. How much can you get them for? Whats your budget for lights?

i suppose. at only 50" i was imagining 4 chips which would do better on height than a single

t
those are good for vertical gardens. in a horizontal garden half your light is going in the wrong direction, the lightbulbs i recommended all have forward facing diodes once you pop the cover off

Ah, good point.

Actually check out the quantum boards. https://www.rollitup.org/t/diy-with-quantum-boards.927159/
Kits will be ready soon. They might be your perfect solution. I'd take time to get the best light possible for your little grow. It will have the biggest effect on your outcome. Standard advise seams to be about 25watts for top notch LED per square foot for flowering. So you 'need' 60 watts to flower in that case.

And its not so much about pulling lots of weight, its about quality. Good lights will give you dense sticky nugs without any extra effort on your part.

There is another post asking same thing, yes you can grow under straight LED light bulbs. Cree 100w daylight work, all I use in my closet since Feb.

Any modern full spectrum Led by a top company will grow bud given a reasonable amount of watts. The tech cost has moved recently where theres some amazing options available for small spaces on a budget. Options that just weren't there 6 months. So it's a shame to see people missing out on them.

(Your plants looks great btw)

So what I wanted to do was build a grow box out of wood that would fit perfectly into the side of my closet an 18x18x50 would be perfect ! I was thinking of doing 4 100watt equivalent leds ( 2 2700k and 2 5000k Phillips) I was then thinking of adding 4 100 watt equivalent cfl bulbs in 3500k. Placing the eight bulbs built into the side of the box in a row about 35 inches up with a scrog setup placed at 27 inches. Also would be using two 120 watt pc fans for intake placed 10 inches from bottom of box and 1 output fan attached to a diy carbon filter. Do you think this would work ? I'm trying to keep my electricity bill to a minimum but still get a decent yield. If I could get 2-3 oz every harvest I would be happy . This is my first indoor grow so I'm trying to learn as much as I can . I've been searching the internet and forums for the past month now. Seeds should be arriving in the next week or so.

Do I build it myself ? you screw it to a heat shink and attach a driver and plug,
How hard would it be with basic electronic knowledge ? trivally easy. no soldering , no termal paste even.
How much ? for your application 75 for the board about 50 (?) for the driver and 15 (?) for accessories.

All info you need is here
