Can you grow different veggie types in 4 pot DWC system???

I am a total newb and have decided on a basic 4 pot dwc system. I'd like to start out with some simple herbs to learn the art of hydroponics. Does it make a difference if you start different strains in each netpot? Like a tomato in one, a basil in another, and a lettuce in a third? The root system of the plants must grow into one another. Perhaps starting all 4 pots might not be a good start?

So are you talking about a bucket system or just separate net pots on the same bucket? I think the biggest obstacle you'll face is trying to get the PH and nutrients just right for each of those plants, since they're all feeding from the same reservoir (if you're adding nutes). Even with MJ, it's semi difficult to have 4 different strains run from the same reservoir, as they each have slightly different preferences of nutrient levels.

If you're not adding any nutrients(or adding very little), this would probably work just fine.

I purchased the stealth hydro dwc 4 net pot system. I think it's a 4 gallon reservoir. So....is it easier to maintain ph and nutrient levels with four of the same plant? The only nutes I am using are the supplied nutrient powder. Figured it best to use this until I am more experienced. Do you think maybe I should start with two plants and close up the other sites? I am thinking the root system will be less crowded for better growth.
