can you get your med card with a misdemeanor drug charge?

my friend has a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge and i remember reading that you can get your med card as long as you dont have a FELONY drug charge. correct me if im wrong. if someone knows where i can find that info on the state of michigan website that would be great. THANKS

Yes you can I have a misdermeaner possesion charge and i got my med card. They only say if its a felony drug charge.

You can get your card regardless of your conviction status. You cannot be a caregiver if you have a felony drug conviction.

"Primary caregiver" means a person who is at least 21 years old and who has agreed to assist with a patient's medical use of marihuana and who has never been convicted of a felony involving illegal drugs.
