Hey how are you all doing? I want to maximize the space in the box im making my having a efficient lighting fixture. Every uses y splitters but has any one tried something like this? Each piece is rated at 660 watts so I don't think it will burn out. My main concern is Ill lose power as it travels.

I appreciate any feed back or suggestions!

Peace! :leaf:

It wouldn't "Not Work" .... The only worry would be the male plug and gravity pulling it down and out of the female receptacle .... Those Chinese threads on those splitters need to be tight... I burned out a cheap timer where it plugged into cord last night because it was loose and I bumped it...

It will work but you will not like it. Once all the bulbs are on it becomes a hassle. I would just recommend to use higher wattage bulbs and going past four bulbs per fixture is a bit of overkill.

You won't need twelve in a space that size, but it wouldn't hurt other than the heat. I would use 3 splitters and put them together to hold 4 bulbs. Then make another one just the same and then you have 2 good four bulb fixtures. That's my opinion.

It will work. I recommend a different set up tho. The way you have it you will be missing alot of area on middle of plant and sides.

IMG_0954.jpgTry like this.

Start with just top part and add to sides when plant gets 6 inches tall.

I have looked at those and also those party light packs you can get that have 15 light sockets along the cord but thought they wouldn't power high watt bulbs

I like bb and flaming's ideas hope you get it figired out.
I figure if im going to grow for real im going to do it the right way. Cfls work, its true, but I want to spend 3-4 months to get grade A shit. Going to save a bit and get an LED light. Would go hps but the heat is killer. Right now im just deciding between a blackstar 135watt ufo or a pro grow 180. Either of these lights wit the scrog imma set up should do real well. I might supplement with a few cfls but having a shit load of cfls just seems to unorganized to me, idk. Just smoked some loud aha.

Go with the higher wattage right from the start if you're gonna get an LED system.

Another thought would be to get a larger cfl system in the 100+ watt range. One bulb, more power.
