I appologize in advance if this has been covered somewhere else, ive searched and couldnt find much. What does it mean when a strain is "clone-only"? im very curious about this and any info would be greatly appreciated.

it means someone found a seed that expressed a certain phenotype, grew that female ,took clones but never had a male to make seeds with .or someone created thier own cross or strain by breeding making them only available by cuttings

oh, its as simple as that? i figured there was more to it than that. couldnt you theoreticly force the plant to turn hermie and get fem seeds?

+1, means you can't aquire seeds of the strain, it is only available by knowing someone who has it and getting a clone from them.

Yep, Sour D was that way for a long time... There's a local strain to Ohio called Lemon G, it's a clone only strain, I'm not to fond of it, grown it, smoked it, not impressed.

The people who grow it are stingy about letting it out.

you dont want to use ice to ship clones. put 'em in sandwich bags, then in toilet paper tubes, then inside a VHS case or something similar. if theyre healthy and well rooted theyll survive a few days packed like that.

i forgot you want to use two toilet paper tubes, one the length of the VHS case, the other goes inside the first tube and is cut the length of the first tube minus the lenght of your rockwool block. you put a crease in the second tube so when the box gets tumbled around the weight of the cube doesnt crush the plant.

No fucking way, are you serious?

The last cannabible (Jason King) didn't even have photos it just mentioned that Lemon G was a local strain to Ohio, and had a pungent lemon flavor.

There's a whole thread about Lemon G I've been posting in under Seed & Strain reviews.

Someone probably made some feminized seeds from it.

It's originally Columbian bagseed, an old hippy grew it for years, gave out some clones, and from there it spread pretty far, I was growing it 4-5 years ago. Wasn't impressed.

so then clone-only strains are a testiment that cloning clones that have been cloned doesnt affect a plants vigor? i have heard many mixed arguments about this. Al B. Fuct says hes been cloning off the same batch of seeds for 9 yrs and ive read another guy who swears starting from seed every time is best.

I'm no expert on strains but I've read a few posts around the forum that say the strain 'Green Crack' is a clone only strain and supposedly a kick ass strain.

Unfortunately I live in a stingy tight ass State when it comes to mj and I don't know any growers around me so it's not likely I'll ever get my mitts on GC clones.
