Can Rats destroy a crop?

I had rats destroy a crop. They chewed threw every plant. I killed the rats for destroying all my hard work. Over 40 plants!

It turned out there was a nest of Rats in the compost pile. They were getting into my garage for sure since it was located nest to the garage door. When we discovered them we were able to take out 5 of them with a compost fork and shovel. Nothing like impaling rats with your in-laws ^_^ The same night we set out 14 rat traps and got 3 more rats. I've been putting the traps out every night and got a couple nibbles but no hits. I was thinking about opening that gate up to my Rott Duke. I'm sure they would drive him nuts.

I had the same problem trash cans were outside of my garage had my outdoor starts 2feet tall with multi tops and the rats girldeld all the stocks and they slowly died.I set my cat in the garage he sniffed around like a dog and within 2 days no more rats he is awesome.

mayby use a fake owl? I heard of ppl doing this..

Get a few of these, place peanut butter under the trap lever. Replace the peanut butter if the trap does not go off, also try getting the bar close as you can to the edge to make it more of a hair trigger. GL
