Hi rollitup , Insecticidal soap can dissolve fat , it's why recommended to use gloves while you washing dishes with washing liquid , and trichomes are fat and oil (?) and thc and other cannabinoids ,
I sprayed plants 3 times in veg stage , but all plants had pre flowers with a bit trichomes on it , I don't know if I did a silly thing to my plants and I think I ruined their potency ,

imo as long as its not past... 2-3 weeks after flip, there's not much to worry about.. at all.
Do you think I damaged present trichomes on plant ? why google say it's safe to use on cannabis ,

my another concern is if the soap residue stay on plant stems or leaves , and in flower when it rains , remaining soap dissolve in rain water and damage more trichomes , WTF :?

man I googled this insecticidal soap and sites say it's ok to use it on cannabis , but it is NOT , it dissolves trichomes ,

the balls of trichomes are protected by cuticle which is waxy layer , insecticidal soap dissolve fat and it includes this waxy layer , it can dissolve waxy layer and kill trichomes ,

I used it just 3 times past week , it's outdoor , Colorado latitude , I think it should start flowering mid august or early September ( first time grow like this not sure ?? ) ,

I had nice clear trichomes on this pre flowers and after applying insecticidal soap they disappear , still inter parts of plant that soap could not touch them has trichomes on it ,

I want to know when flowering trigger plant will re produce trichomes again on them or they gone for ever ?

Very good question. Did you ever receive answer to this question? I am a few weeks into flower and I am fighting spider mites. Is insecticidial soap a viable solution to this problem without damaging trichomes?

I used it for the 1st time 2 weeks ago for whiteflies and possibly one plant with aphids, i also sprayed 11 other plants with it, 6 that were in week 1 and 5 auto's in mid-flower. Nothing happened to the flowering plants at all, all are frosty! The week 1 girls, the 3 moneymaker strains showed zero issue, all 3 critical kush's showed some burn, with 1 of them losing its leaf on the 1st node, but recovered fine in a week. The one im using has 2% potassium salts of fatty acids as its ingredient.

That makes me feel a little better. I have been battling mites since last week. This could not have come at a worse time. I have girls at various stages of flowering. One of them is at day 42 of flower and rest three are at the 4th week of flower. I have managed to get it under control. But the girl that is in the later stage seems to have matured a bit early due to the mites and the treatment. I have discarded all the buds underneath the canopy because those were the most affected. These pictures were taken couple of days ago. Whats your opinion?

from my research and in other hand my experience , I tell you how insecticidal soap work , the outer layer of soft insects is covered with a waxy layer to protect them this allows them to save water and survive , insecticidal soap destroy their skin and kill them , same waxy layer cover trichome heads , it's wax fat , soap dissolve it , at this time it just shaken and loosen up the cuticle of trichome , when you next time foliar feed or just spray plant with something all trichomes wash out and just stalks remain , simply you loose heads , same thing happen to cuticle layer on plant leaves , you may notice when you spray plant with insecticidal soap leaves are cleaner , it's because the outer layer containing waxy layer and dirt is washed out , that's why if you over do insecticidal soap you can burn leaves , because they will more sensitive to light ,

you can wash you hands and see how it remove fat and oil from your hands .

You could try a pepper based spray for bug extermination if you're concerned about soap sprays.

Usual precautions about spraying later in flower, etc.

Also, you asked a pretty good question regarding soap and trichome destruction, thanks. Can't say I know the answer.
