Can I use CaMg from General Organics in an all organic grow?

CaMg from general organics is DERIVED from calcium carbonate, and magnessium carbonate. No where on the website did it say derived from, so I assumed since all the other stuff in that line is organic this must be too...

What I want to know is, can I use this without killing all my beneficial bacteria in the soil.

Right on the back of the bottle in large print it says, NOT for use in organic crop or food production in california. No clue what this means, and google doesnt have a clue either. :(

So will adding 1 teaspoon of this per week to my plants with all the other organic liquid bat shit and myco bacteria be affected by this chemically derived formula?... Is there even a difference? (besides the fact that the chemically derived works instantly and the organics need to be broken down by bacteria and other shit in the soil)

...if you grow truly organic in a living soil then there are better alternatives, crushed eggshells comes to mind, ...and how certain are you that you even need additional calcium and/or magnesium?

peace, bozo

btw, that bit about California means it fails to meet some standard of organics required by California regulations.

Well from what I have read from a horticulture book was that calcium was a main part in almost all plants life cycles. It is hard for plants to take up calcium sometimes even when it is broken down by beneficial bacteria in the soil. The problem with egg shells is my grow would be done before the time the egg shells even had a chance to break down. I grow 100% organic, and I use all store bought reverse osmosis water with a PH of around 6.4 I believe. So there is nothing I add to the water that can kill the bacteria, so yes I have living soil. Which is why I need to know if 3.0% magnesium and 5.0% calcium in a teaspoon of water every two weeks maybe hurt/kill the bacteria in my soil.

it says stuff about calcium in this book, http://www.amazon.com/Marijuana-Horticulture-Outdoor-Medical-Growers/dp/187882323X.... This ones not really a horticulture book but an interesting read, http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Life-Plants-Fascinating-Emotional/dp/0060915870/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1357251284&sr=1-1&keywords=The+life+of+a+plant, and it has it in this book. http://www.amazon.com/Marijuana-Growers-Handbook-Complete-Cultivation/dp/0932551467/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1357251431&sr=1-1&keywords=oaksterdam I would recommend all of these btw.

...yeah man, don't take this the wrong way but to do things in a truly organic manner requires an understanding of the web of life that makes a 'living soil' , what it requires for life and what the by-products are because it's those by-products that your plants actually feed on.

...here is a book i highly recommend for anyone trying to grow organically, and to do it right you'd need space to compost to some degree, some place for your soil to 'cook' before using, ...for example you might want to add some high P bat guano to the final pot-up before the flip but you'd really want to add that guano to the soil at least a month before using it to allow the guano to break down and for that P to become available. (this can be as simple as a couple of big bins to rotate your soil in)

...anyway, here's the link to that book and to a great thread on organics.

Living organic soil from start through recycling

peace, bozo

btw, i'd bet dollars to donuts that that store bought organic soil has all the calcium and magnesium you'll need.

Good responses and advice above , if your follow the Rev from Skunk Mag you will find that he advocates using General Organics line of Camag+ with his TLO Soil method ( True Living Organism ) ..

Not that I am a follower of the Rev, just wanted to let you know some Organic growers do use this product ..

Thank you for finally answering the question...

Thank you bozo for you advice but I was just looking for a straight up answer. I already know about that stuff and I DO NOT have time for it right now in my life. I would like to try organic liquid fertilizers before I try other stuff, but thanks for the advice.
