Over the summer I grew some Iranian Autoflower from 1 year old seed. Let it go a little long and had some bud rot, thought I trimmed all the bad stuff off before drying/curing. Over time, one of the jars started smelling a little funky. It kept getting worse til I noticed the bud was growing little white tiny fuzz spots. They were expanding so I threw it all in the freezer. That was in August so everything is probably dead by now, right?

Can I smoke it?!

I wouldn't smoke it. Mold is really bad for your lungs. Make cookies or something instead.

Molds are multi-cellular filament organisms. They burn. What you don't want is to inhale any of the spores, so you should use some kind of filter on your joint, like an actual cigarette filter, or a wad of tobacco, or a wad of pot that is spore free.

to be honest ive smoked weed damp and was crap. then few days later it turned moldy, end week was hollow nearly with white brown mold al through it. i was young and i smoked it. it got me out my tree to b fair but hurt my lungs alot

You can smoke it with any lighter in a bowl because the heat at which butane ignites will kill any harmful mold spores. It just feels gross doing it. better luck next grow!

In order to kill microorganisms, especially mold, the scientists "Levitz and Diamond (1991) suggested baking marijuana in home ovens at 150 °C [302 °F], for five minutes before smoking. Oven treatment killed conidia of A. fumigatus, A. flavus and A. niger, and did not degrade the active component of marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)."

Main cause of bud rot? I put it down to over feeding/high humidity. I lost loads on my last crop, was it down to leaving it too long? Peace
