Can I grow in a cup outside? (first time)

Hey I'm a first time grower.... don't know much about it but all I know is that I'd have an easier time just hiding my green outside rather than trying to mask the smell somewhere inside....

I was curious... because I've read a lot of problems about people's harvest getting eaten by bugs and whatnot outside... or the soil is fucked up.. blah blah... I was curious if I could just germinate my seeds, put them in some good soil in a 3in diameter, 5 1/2 in deep plastic cup... then set them outside somewhere with good sun... water em.. however often I'm supposed to... and get some small.. smokable plants out of it?... Like I said I'm a new grower... read that How To Grow stikcy up and down but couldn't find an Outside manual to save my life... lols.. some help would be appreciated though :bigjoint:

Just plant it in a larger pot. The plant will grow to the size of its container really, so a small pot and your plant will stay pretty small, but that can also stress your plant a lot if it needs a larger area for root growth. Read up on the characteristics of your strain and try and accommodate it as she will later to you. unless he's a he. Then he is a bastard and will burn for it.

Jiffy pot... I'll keep that in mind... but I was wondering if I could grow a full blown plant in the pot just outside in the sun?.. That way I dont have to worry about what kind of chemicals and whatnot are in the ground soil and whatnot.

You could, but it's going to need some care specifically because it's in an enclosed environment (the pot).

You would have to monitor moisture, for sure. Depending on the soil used and how demanding the plant is you may have to supplement its nutrients. If you're in a warm climate then heat can be a really big problem for potted plants.

And its just not the right time of season to be starting a plant that is going to be grown outdoor. When you grow indoors you are mimicking the light cycle of outdoors, hence the 18 hours of light. Now that we are getting in to fall, this is when the plants hormones (because of the hours the sun is up and strength of sun light) begin producing THC and flower. Thats why I say if you start your plant now, grow it in doors, or wait for next May.

Well.. or if he's Aussie, yeah? Our fall is their spring. Or South American. Or in some parts of Africa! Or an island chain in the Pacific...
