can I FIM/top more than 1 shoot?

Hi all, another question for my first grow....
I looked but could not find any answer or discussion on this so I don't know if this is a stupid question...

~can you top or FIM more than one shoot on the same plant?~

I have aTangerine Dream that has been a tight bush since day one. (Pic 2 was a couple wks ago but the only one I have from the side.)
(I thought this plant was my auto haze but when it didn't flower and the one I thought was tangerine dream started to flower with the other 2 autos...I remembered that one of the T.D. seeds rolled into the auto's section of the container during germination so I kind of guessed which seed was which strain :-/ different containters next time.

Anyway sorry to ramble...
I have already successfully FIM'ed it, and I know I have 4 wks till the auto haze are done and I can switch the 2 T.D.'s to 12/12. I am getting a screen asap to start scrogging it...

Does anyone know for a fact or from experience if it will benefit, or stress it too much if I try to FIM a few side branches? Thank you for your feedback!

Few pics to give you a visual of the bush.

yes, you can top and or fim as many tops or shoots that you want to do it to..
some people have topping and or fim'ing down to a real science and pretty much know exactly what to top and when to get how many tops in the end..

I would agree with racerboy. I have used both but never together or more than once. The plant need time to recover so if your doing a longer veg then it might work well for you. I would also say you would need a few nodes inbetween topping/FIMn sites. I would also be afraid if the buds being to small after more than one top/FIM. Just my thoughts.

Phew well I hope to be there in the near future but I FIM'ed both T.D.'s and they both have 4 shoots coming out. Seemed simple with all the tutorials but maybe its beginners luck lol. Thank you for the response...should I do a couple and wait a few days or a week and do a couple more?

Good point...I never thought it may decrease bud size? There are already like 10 tops that will grow into the screen...if that possible it will produce smaller buds I guess I shouldn't get too greedy and over due it or over stress it.

Go ahead & FIM the living shit out of her, dont be afraid to fim multiple branches or to fim multiple spots of ultra fast growing shoots.

I fim the hell out of my girls multiple times till im 100% positive all upward growth is finished.

Every grower who has plans of medium to large scale grows should learn to master the fim technique, its a crucial aspect of canopy management,an uneven canopy leads to serious weight loss at harvest.

i'd wait about at least a good few days in between any form of topping / fim as it tends to stress the plant out, and doing so too close together i'd be afraid would really stress the crap out of the plant and end up being counterproductive...

maybe you can look up a few videos on youtube by searching under something like multiple topping on marijuana plants and see what you can dig up that way m8..

Thanks! So I found just a couple that brush the topic and say they "top as many budsites as they could" and nothing that says "never top more than x number of times."
So I think ill do 4 more FIM's, one on each side. 2 this week, 2 next week, then 2 weeks more veg to recover and grow into screen. And if all goes well...start flower the 25th of oct or 1st of nov. (Depending when the autos are done.)
Any objections or more info, advice, experience?

I think I will have to try to fimn it alot next grow. I think a few days will be enough. The best way is to wait till you see new growth then she will be good to top again.

I FIMed a Skunk #1 & didn't notice any stress at all. It was like the gal never even noticed. i got a lotta branches. No central cola to speak of, but the FIM branches all had nice 'end colas'. The 'end colas' were between 6 & 10" long. Longer than many central colas I've had & a LOT more of them. I was & am blown away at how much I got from one plant. Size & density was very good.

This was my 1st FIM grow, only did 3-4 to see what happened. I am gonna FIM all my OD ladies now. Worked great!

Hope every one is having a great harvest!
