hi can i have some help plz, my 8 g13 haze ladies are 5 weeks into flowering, its my first time so i struggled keeping them low down. i now have buds growing everywhere.only trouble is a lot of leaves are blocking light from a lot of buds.should i cut leaves away or leave them and hope the other buds grow bigger without light. im using 600 hps growlux bulb in a 8 pot hydro system. thanks

i have an oscilating fan, i have it tied up high so the light doesnt burn the leaves n buds.so you think i should just leave em. 1 more thing do you know where i can find detailed guide for the next 3 weeks.e.g when to harvest, flush etc. thanks

i had read cuttin fan leaves will not help with growth that it will more than likley stunt growth since photosynthesis is done there,i think it was in this months r last months issue of hightimes the jorge cervantes section in the end.

i used to cut fan leaves off years ago and used to always have small buds  not any more. remove any lower branches while your still in veg or the first week or so of 12/12 that wont get any light later on, then you wont have any buds that arent getting light and youl get better tops too.

yeah Londoner's got it. You never want to remove healthy fan leaves from your plant, it'll only stunt your growth. Remove the leaves on the bottom branches that don't receive much light anyway and will yield small buds.

leave them be, leaves dont block light from buds, they catch light to make buds.......

Even though that eyeball avatar makes me wanna puke Londoner is correct about this. :o

Cutting off the fan leaves will do more harm than good, for your own sake, please don't do it. :leaf:

Yep, fan leaves are called "feeder leaves" for a reason. The only reason you would want to cut them off is if they are possessed by the devil and they keep telling you to kill your boss but you're self employed so they're REALLY starting to piss you off...

I would guess yes, but since I'm on my first grow, I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.

What I do is surf around the site and look at peoples threads / pics of their plants.
If someones plants make my mouth water then I decide that their advice is worth taking.

Everyone has their own style / timetable, you're just gonna have to trust in others at first until you get your groove and figure out what works for you.

just be carefull, the breeders flowering times are notoriously inaccurate, e.g my last church lot supposed to be 9wks, but wasnt finished until 10 and a half weeks, flushing at 5wks of 12/12 sounds a bit early to me, wait until say 60-70% of your hairs have browned, then youl have about 2wks left, give or take a bit.

Well, you can do a Clearex type flush where you're just leaching the salt out of the soil every month or so. In a long grow like a Sativa grow that's a really good idea.
