Can female plants turn male???

Hi I desperately need help on this question.

I have two plants growing one is GDP which is doing fine and the other I started from seed, I have no clue what the strain is.

The one I grew from seed is taking much longer to develop and Yesterday I noticed a sac inside growing white hairs. It is next to the hairs and when i pulled the sac off it there was a small bit of white powder that came out...????? Today I noticed more sacs that developed along the higher portion of the plant.

Can the seed plant be a hermaphrodite that could possibly pollinate both plants???

Please Help. really worried, or am i just freaking out over nothing??? :(

Well, its just gonna be me smoking these trees anyways. I just want to make sure that my plants won't be completly ruined. I don't mind some seeds at the cost of more bud. Would hate to have to destroy 1 of my 2 plants that Ive worked so damn hard at for the last couple months...

I would get rid of the hermie, no need to let your other plant spend energy making seeds, but that is just me.

Can't say for sure, since we don't have pics.. but it does sound like you do have a Hermaphrodite/Intersexual plant.. IF you do decide to remove it from your grow-room, cover the entire plant with a bag before you move it out.. just in case there any sacs you missed.

EDIT: A plant will redirect it's energy into producing seeds, once it has been pollinated..

If you want more plants try to get a good female(not an auto) and keep her in veg and just take clones from it. It's better than seeds anyway. You could keep her for years and take clones the whole time. And you will have available females anytime you want.

Form wise they are nanners... color wise they are a bit green.. I am used to more yellow looking (like bananas) but that could also be strain related. If it were a single plant, or that you could either isolate the grow or use dutch reversal (but think you still want isolation), I would say keep and grow it out... but I would take no chances with a straight female in the room. just my 2 cents.

And its done. If I have the plant hanging in a box full of Styrofoam will it help absorb the water faster??

sorry, a bit on the high side LOL...

It was a long way of saying it was a hermie and how you could go about with your he/she. Either toss, which you have and I will to comment on that in a bit..., or grow out separately regardless of Dutch Master Reversal spray/treatment.

Now, I would just get a good size paper sack and put it in there... far less chance of molding while you determine on how to dispose of it.
