hi can anyone help with my plant please? its a himalaya blue diesel, auto from short stuff, growing hydroponic, using Advanced Nutrients (3 part one, grow micro bloom).its on day 40 now, i know its really small for its age but had a big problem with alge an it nearly died, also had a problem with ph being way too high (ran out of testing stuff, was about 7 - 8ph but sorted that about 5-6 days ago now. the problem starts off as the very ends of the new leaves leaves goin yellow after there a couple of days old, then it gets light brown spots which turn black, like on the middle leaves which then get worse and lead to looking like them lower leaves :(. strange thing it still carrys on growing, its had this prob right from the start. ive searched all over this site but cant find anthin that matches this prob. is it nute burn or nitrogen def or what?thought id sorted it with the ph done but the prob still exists. oh and also it has redish branches, is this normal?
thanks in advance for any help, i can add more picks if you need
what ya think? cheers

Thats is a really small plant please tell us how big your pot is ? the pot your have your plant in. ? it could be suffering from root lock ! is what i call it its when your roots cant grow anymore due to your pot size. Like my plants at 2 to 3 weeks old they have outgrown there 1 gallon pot no joke ! when i transplanted them the roots were massive all the way to the top of the soil.

its hydroponic no pot. in 3ltr res, air stone in too.there is loads of room in there. yea its small because of the alge, suffocated the roots an it nearly died, stopped growin for about 1- 2 weeks! not good

sorry man but its to hard to say..get rid of that aluminum...thats a good way to mess your plant up...i would say either to much mag. or iron..but im leaning towards a disease...if you smoke around your plant i would stop too...dam it also look like maybe a tye of mold...sorry i have to pass on this one

Hi, just thought I might try to help a bit. First your ph levels in your bucket should be at 5.8 for optimal root growth and the temps in bucket need to be preferably in the mid 60's to prevent root rot also.I keep mine at 65 to 68 degree's f. If you are having a problem with algae in your buckets , than you obviously have light penetrating your bucket. Use anything that you can wrap around your bucket and lid that will block the light out. It's hard to tell by your pics, what kind of bucket or res you are growing out of to give you more options on what to use to prevent light penetration.
Next is....it is very important that you have an external res to mix your nute's solution in. #1 - what ever nute's brand you are using add it to your mix container at half strength to start with, you dont want to over nute your ladys and it's easier to add nute's to water than to pull them out of the plant if they get burned. #2 - The only way to properly test your water for correct nutrient and PH levels are with the proper meter's, ph strips cannot give you an accurate reading to be sure your in the 5.8 ph range. Also a TDS meter will be able to accurately measure your level of nutrients in your mix.
After you add your nute's to your H20 let it mix well and it also help's to have an air stone in your water res to keep it mixed and oxygenated to prevent bad bacteria from growing. After your water is well mixed with the nute's THAN check your PH level's and adjust it up or down with PH solutions. The reason is all nutrients brands have diff value's and will change your water ph when you add them. Keep in mind it is good to know what your water ph is to start with before you decide to use it for your plants. Some tap water is very high in clorine and or high tds levels. Best bet if your not sure is use RO water or buy it in store.
The best advise I ever recieved from a very established grower was : When it comes to nute's Less Is Better! you can always add more if the plants need em.

elo mate. yea only using test strips for ph at the mo, waiting till i get paid so i can buy proper meter. the strips are tellin me its between 5.2 - 6.2.
im usin the base off of one of them aero garden thingys which i bought cheap off some bloke because it already got all the drip system in it, only cost £25. the water in res is about 75 degrees farenheit (25 degrees celsius)
the algae prob has stopped now with the tin foil i put over it, but have been told thats bad for the plant, so need to change it.
there is no external bucket for putting nutes in, just a flap on the front of the res. im using Advanced Nutrients (the 3 part one, grow micro bloom) an yea am only usin half the recomended amount and check the ph after it has mixed well. yes have got an air stone in the tank and am using distilled spring water bought from shop.

We are having some of the same problems but we are in soil. Have you looked at the leaves under a magnifying glass? I am asking because we had thrips real bad and never had heard of them. They are these little plant eating bugs and not sure if that is the thrips on my plants or a nut deficiency, good luck!! It is so hard when you have to deal with an issue like this but these sites are good at helping. Hope you get it all worked out!!
