Can anyone reccomend a short strain for my cabinet?

I'm looking for some seeds who will give short plants for my cabinet.

There's room for about 2-3 feet of green in there.

I'm hoping to find a hybrid more on the Sativa side although I know they're usually lanky.

Also high yield is a preference.

There's not much space so a sog setup is most likely.

Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

Lowlife auto ak 47 is a sativa it usually gets around 2 ft. I get about 1.5 ounces off of a plant. Consider doing a sea of green with thoughs. Very sativa high.

2-3 feet of green is alot of space for pot plants, u can grow anything really in that space.

You should just not veg it over 1 foot before u put it in flowering.

I agree with this, with that small of a cabinet your gonna want to get an autoflowering dwarf. They stay short, but still produce awesome buds. 1 -2oz per plant is pretty good for only 2 months (give or take) from seed to bud.

I would also have to agrea that Lowlife Auto AK-47 is a great choice. Easy to grow and Quite good quality too. It was a past favorite of mine. They only reason im not still growing it is because I have more room now for larger plants. But I do miss the simplicity of the Auto AK's.
Good luck

I've heard that autoflowering plants are no good for cloning, is there any truth to this?

Thats true, they are no good to clone. I have tried to clone them in the past, it works but the clones stay very small and don't yield much of anything due to thier lack of grow time. But you can grow them the old fashion way and make seeds. The only problem with that is, they lose there Dwarf properties a little more each time you bread them. After about 3 times I was getting Nearly full size Plants and they didn't Flower on 24hr lighting anymore, I had to force them with 12/12. A also had a gread deal of Hemies, but that may have just been a freak thing.

3 feet of space for plants to grow, u can grow anything in that, as long as u dont veg it 2 long.

I would pick what ever strain u want and go from there, your space is fine.

Good luck!

Wow, thats very interesting. I was wondering about that. Did the first generation seeds turn out any good?

and did you seed them with a regular male or an auto male?

They were either Third or fourth generation Offspring of male and Female Lowlife Auto AK-47. I was completely caught off gaurd by it. Being that I was only had several grows under my belt, I just thought that was normal for a plant to resort to old traits and become almost back to a full size. But who really knows what happened.

hmmm. i dont know the specific genetics of an autoflower, you could have had a random mutation (unlikely) causing the plants to essentially evolve out of it (unlikely in 3-4 generations however) or their could be a recessive or sex-linked gene controlling the flowering process.

my guess is the autoflowers lack a certain enzyme or protein that makes them responsive to photoperiods, then of course through multiple breedings you get a variant (pheno) that actually has the appropriate photoperiod responsive flowering gene. this tells me that the strain is not stabilized

your guess is as good as mine. I might try it again with a maybe LR 2 or Diesel Ryders, Just to see. Who knows what the hell happens when you make plants do crazy shit like this. Over time we are going to end up using and crossing all the stains and ending up with only one type of plant. Isn't inbreading grand...

Autoflower strains have been crossed with Cannabis Ruderalis, which flowers independently of photoperiod. What you experienced was the recessive genes of the full sized plants which were crossed with the autoflower for their high/yeild/flavor. The resulting offspring of this mating was then back-crossed in lineage to attempt to make the autoflower characteristic dominant in plants which it would normally be recessive. Over successive generations, the recessive "full size" genes became dominant as the autoflower genes became recessive.

Well, that cleared that up.. I think, LOL. So does that mean that they will revert back to being larger plant. Forgive my Ignorance to Scientific explanations.
