they grow fine if not better outdoors, last few outdoor crops ive done have all produced 5-6 footers (indica strains) -getting upto a half bar if not more per plant ;)

what do you need to know?

i am planing on a gorrilla grow in 2009 so to kick off i would need to know the best time to plant, how old my clones should be,how long to harden them off before hand, a good spot to plant...by that i mean n/w/s/e facing,a good soil prep. just them will be a good start off

i think the best time to start is april, best off using a strain that can handle cold weather something like purple power

the more established the clones you want to plant the better but obviousley small enough to sneak them in.

find the most inconsevable place to grow with a good hidden track to it from over grown bushes that you can push aside and all that crap.
Also try on a bit of a slope for drainage. the british weather is a bitch so try and do it in some sort of sun trap surrounded by trees and bushes, this will help keep the wind from freezing your babies.

also things like potting,
a good one is to get them in the pots cut the bottom of the pot off and tape it back on so then when it comes to planting you can just take off the bottom of the pot this should help with keeping the roots aerated as the mix in the pot will be nice and light. a good one to use is canna coco and a mix of perlite and vermiculite keeps the water flowing simple yet effective.

thats usualy a good idea if you need to get there and plant them quick so you dont have to prep all the land and introduce new mediums so the soil doesnt go solid just dig a whole maby 2 foot deep and add back a half a foot of soil all broken up to help the plant take root to the new surface

also a big big pice of good advice i read was that getting to know the surroundings. if there is a lake close by get a fishing rod the little telescopic ones and carry any feeds or andything you want to do to them in things like old tango bottles the black ones lol never know when the police will show

start in late feb and harden them off during late march/early april ready for planting.

big pots, 50-60 L / cheapest soil i can get

any nutes i got lying around, although i find they dont really need that many outdoors? feeding them nutes maybe once every 1/2 weeks or so - at full strength.

any pests (mainly green/black fly) i just spray with a mix of washing up liquid and vegetable oil (mixed with water obviously)

dont take pictures.

water would be a main cause for concern.

1 litre water = 1kg weight.

you may have too hike alotta water too grow spot. uk is full of waterways, as said above a 1 day licence for fishing a cheap kiddies throwaway fishing kit and a few rounds of bread (close season 15th march to june 15th). nuets can be carried in pop bottle, if questioned its a health drink. in closed season get a dog, its ideal for a walk by check.

you realy need too observe area for a good few weeks, dog walkers, ramblers, farmers etc etc. who is going near your grow and how often.using the same path in and out everytime will in the end leave a clear indication someone is doing something. river banks also grow over so you need too realy think about location, water, and above all humans.

you can get cheap camping bottles that hold 15 ltrs and they are made of tough plastic so they can be folded and stored in smaller space.

try burying it under a bush and have a hose leading out from it to the top of a bush and a funnel ontop. nothing easier than just collecting the rain water and if it is under a bush means you dont have to cover the top of it so you can just lift it out.

there see through so just throw a black bag over it and it should just look like a bit of rubbish .

link to a few folding water holders

as said above a good stake out for walkers and ramblers is always a must

is it true that planting near to or in with neetles is a good place??? i hear that they grow like and use the same kind of nutes as cannabis.

i have a place in mind for my own outdoor grow. i have a nearby source of water from a brook. good cover and in a suntrap. very little foot traffic. im going too grow 4 plants.

fresh running water is ideal i can use a smallish bucket too scoop what i need, and cut down on having too carry water. going too take cuttings from my next cfl grow so they already have a headstart when they get transplanted. im not going too use any nuets/fert. maybe washing liquid in veg oil too protect from bugs

If your serious about doing it out-doors just be fore warned that it is some of the hardest work you will ever do in your life time. Im not exaggerating, i did me first out door crop just this past summer and it was Back Breaking labor, and it was only two plants! After going through that much work i am sure i will stick to in doors from now on.

me and a friend grew outdoors in his back garden, the weather was shit all year but we did get a small yield.
They grew pretty big - started in April, harvested last week (beggining November)
2 x northern lights crossed with skunk and
2 x northern lights clones from my indoor grow.

The buds on the outdoor grow were shit - tiny, but with lots of trichs.
I flowered one of the outdoor plants indoors under my lights and the buds were A LOT bigger, but I did use Topmax and Mollasses which probably helped.

The 2 purple ones are the NL clones, purple due to low night temps.

Heres a pic of the smallest clone that I bought inside to flower

any body hear of this before....mixing old cooking oil into you soil with oats, and letting them break down for a few months before you plant outside? been told it is a cheap fert and also prtects your roots in the cold. sounds abit far fetched to me.
