calling all DWC scrogers

As the plant tries to grow vertically through the screen, tuck the branches. Lower shoots will be able to catch up, and just keep tucking to keep everything level until youve filled enough of the screen to flower.

That really made everything easier in my head. so once I've got about 60-80 % of the canopy, switch to 12/12??

Yeah somewhere around there, like I said depends on a couple things: how dense of a canopy you want which mostly depends on your lighting, how long you plan to train into flower which depends on stretch and available/preferred height. If you post some specs or pics of your setup itd be easier to give more specific advice without putting my foot in my mouth. Idk if youre running a 5x5 with a 400w or a 4x4 with a 1k ya know?

I run one plant scrog under a 1000. I wait until the first buds appear before I thin out under the canopy. Doing it before can cause them to stay in veg longer and stretch more. U cant go wrong buying the book Secrets of the West Coast Masters by Drew West. The book is dedicated to the scrog method start to finish and will show you how to pull a lb off one plant

Nice, I'm kinda jealous lol. Id like to switch from the cab I scrog in to a 5x5 or somethin but fuckin odd footprint requirements...I make it fun though. Youll be able to handle a nice dense and deep canopy with that so you can really fill it up. 12-14" of canopy above the screen shouldnt be an issue at all for that light.

12-14" above the screen? so you're saying expect to have about a foot of growth above the screen?

I trimmed all of the growth that didn't make it past the screen. It looks creepy but the idea is to keep the plant from using its energy on smaller nuggets that won't get proper light. This is my first time doing it so I am only going on other growers advice. Hopefully it will work out for both of us. Good luck and here is a pic of the bottom trimmed up.

I built a drain into my containers where all I have to do is turn the switch and it drains everything to my garden outside. (if that makes sense) I created a lever that closes tight so I can open it and add my fresh water/solutions to it, without moving to the containers
For you growers that use this method, do you just clean the buckets at harvest then? I was under the impression you had to clean the buckets every time you changed the water, but maybe that's not the case?
