California Light Works reviews?

I have 2 of SS550 and the 275 veg to match. I went with CLW simply because I wanted commercially made where it wasn't DIY just in case of any electrical/fire issues, etc. Theirs are UL tested if I'm not mistaken/forgetting my old research.

Since that purchase a lot has changed, even their own line offering COB based models now. For my moms I picked up 2 of the small HLG boards and they're impressive as well. Tons of options and 'best' will change damn near it monthly...

Find a good company with fair prices and service/support offering solid products based on at least semi-recent tech and you'll be good to go no matter the brand imo.

The 'controller' for the SolarSystem's isn't that hot but works and does the job; Just wish it was wireless/bluetooth or something as under the hood the tech they're using should have supported it. There's a usb port for flashing the firmware which I had to do and their support was good through that deal - I think I had a pretty early model of the controller.

If you're in a 4X4 space you need the SF4000.
It's about 450-500 watts. 2 of the SF2000's would be even better for spread and hanging height variation.
they had a decent black friday sale, my current plan is 2x sf2000 on either side of an air cooled 600w hps I already own and have plenty of bulbs for. Should beef up the sides of the canopy and allow better coverage for a good run.

Lose the 600. If you're in a 4X4, those 2 SFs will do it for you.

eh its a 4x8 space that i don't really use all of, I like a bit of light overlap. Plus its already paid for and has bulbs I'd like to at least use them for a single run each.
Well, in that case, try the 600 on one side and the 2 SF2000's on the other 4X4 and have a Lil shootout. See what you like more. You'll never know how LEDs really perform with the 600 in the center.

No es basura, es caro, sí, pero no está cerca de la basura.

Si crees que Osram fabrica diodos de mierda, tienes mucho que aprender a hacer

Cabrón

I just picked up a California Lightworks solar system 550 with UVB and controller for 998 shipped. I’d rather spend the money on them than some cheap China made one off Amazon. I was originally think blacksheep or blackdog LEDS, which were way more expensive than CLW. Idk I’ll let you know lol

Have 7 of the 550s on movers in various tents. Also have 10 of the uvb bars.
They do the job well.

Have one Marshydro tsl2000. It also does a good job for ALot less $$.

Not knocking either but definitely could have used the $$$ more wisely than CLW.

ive got a handful of the 160W solarstorm 220s that are pretty good. the later series with the osram diodes (you can tell them by the pattern, more diodes, spaced closer together, in 2 rows of 4. older 'solarflare' series used crappy diodes

they are pretty handy for easily lighting up a 3x3 veg tent and, 4 of them can do a 4x4 well (and spread out better than the 400 and 800 series which had too much light packed together and necessitated high hanging.) back when i was using them for primary lighting i got better results with the 4 spread out than one 880

theyre a basic light, not dimmable (but really not neessary in that size). decent efficiency similar to a DE HPS in the 1.6 umol/J system efficiency, with better spectrum and longer life. build quality is great they have a pretty sizeable heatsink and ive never seen a fan go

i can let a few go for $175 ea if anybody needs them. i still use them to this day here and there, but i had several tents worth, so i have a bunch laying around that all have less than a year's use on them. msg me or email.
Hey u have CLW to sell? Im interested for sure! Msg me back if u get a chance. T
