Cali medical question

Im in cali and am about to get a mmj prescription, and I would love to grow without having to face legal repercusions . (I know that cops can be dicks and usually do whatever the fuck they want anyways regardless of the laws) But the whole point of being legal is I don't want drug charges on my record.

So my question is if a person were to grow their legal limit of 6 mature plants and ended up with more than 8 ounces of dried bud would that person still be protected by prop 215? Say the person hypothetically ended up with 3 or 4 pounds and the cops showed up.

No, you're only allowed to have the legal limit in your county. I'm in a 30 plant, 3lb county. There are a couple of them.

Then what would you do with the extra weight?

There is no way someone would just throw it away because your over. I know the obvious thing would be to sell it to a dispensary, would there be like a grace period from harvest time until you could get rid of the stuff until your within the limit?

i wish i lived in cali and could be legal
Its ok, but it isn't like you can just do whatever you want, there are alot of laws out here, and the cops will still bother you even though it is legal. and you can still get fired from some jobs even if you have a prescription.

Isnt it different when u live in the Emerald Triangle?? i have been trying to educate myself on all of this and clearly Cali has come the farthest; also isnt there a big bill that wil be voted on the 12th for legalization of the whole state??:?:

Im in socal. Alot of guys that I know talk about mendecido county, and say that it isn't legal up there to do whatever you want. The cops are just overwhelmed by all of the people growing that they can't really crack down. As for the other two counties Im not sure. It also varies from county to county on how much weight your allowed to have, but mendecido isn't limitless.

There is a big movement right now to get it legalized. I see people with petitions outside businesses all the time wanting signatures to legalize marijuana. The state needs the money, and with sales tax here at almost 9% people are getting a little irate at the government. (Don't know if you have heard about the "tea parties" out here, but there going on quite alot) So if the goverment taxed it would help fill the huge Cailifornia budjet dificit.

I don't know why they just don't legalize it out here alot of people just do it out in the open (Doesnt mean that cops wont bust you because alot of people do it out in the open). Its what the people want. I don't understand what happened to this being a free country and the people telling the government what to do instead of the other way around. Plus people would be alot happier if they could just light up a j.

Quick question.....once you obtain your med card, what employer would hire someone who smokes? Once a background investigation is started I'm assuming it would be an immediate red flag. Would love to move out that way but my job strictly tests and looks for MJ usage.

Make some concentrates like hash for cooking and other things

That's what I would so, some people advertise on craigslist for donations to help them with lighting and the usual costs

Thought about that, but there are 2 drawbacks to that.

1. Your not going to even get close to the amount of money you would get if you sold the buds instead.

2. What if you got a visit from the local authorities before you got a chance to make the concentrate?

You just need to be under honestly. if u get more then insisted by the law then ur gunna have issues. If you dont want ne trouble with the law stay under the limit, plants produce more then ur suppose to have? well then u need to get rid of it lol

honestly i wudnt trip about it, cops wont just come in your door. Plus im shure if u stayed under the right amount plants wise then u wud have a good case in court. Im a cali med patient also :weed:

oh and if i cud give u sum advice.,, dont tell neone that your growing! honestly not even ur best friends. shit will come back to bite u in the ass.

Thanks kushkittens,

Im intending on staying under the plant limit, but wanted to grow more than 8oz of medicine, which is completely doable with certain setups. I just need to know for sure that there wouldn't be any trouble with the law if they came for whatever reason. I definitely would like to grow some good medicine for patients out here but not if its going to get me jail time or even a drug charge for that matter. I think Im going to see a lawyer this week to find out a definite answer.

Your right about not telling anyone about the grow, I don't intend on doing it.

Thanks again,
IG

The lawyer you saw today isn't aware that the limits have been stricken for CA MMJ patients/caregivers.
Yes, that's right, so now you just have to have your doctor's recommendation say that your medical condition requires more than the 6 adult plants.
And, you can also live in one of the counties that legally allows you to grow more than that, too. The cities and counties can allow more, but not less. And with this court ruling, none of them can make more than 6 plants illegal anymore, as long as you do either of the two things above.

Before the limits were stricken by the courts, you needed your doctor's recommendation to state you needed more than your county's limit. Now there is NO limit... it was deemed unconstitutional. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/295139-california-medical-marijuan-read-now.html  Though common sense would be highly recommended when deciding how much to grow. ;)
Shit!!! That is fucking awsome.

He did tell me that there was something in the process however, he did say that you shouldn't go awhole lot over the state/county guidelines. You have to prove to the court it is medically necessary. Which can become messy and cost alot in lawyer fees. Plus feds can become involved depending on how much was there, then your in alot of trouble.

But this I guess this changes alot of things.

Your right, eventhough it's now limitless common sense would have to be used to stay out of trouble.
