cal mag def. not getting better. help!

what you want is for the problem to stop. the leaves that are damaged will not heal, but new growth (and bud growth) should pick up pace with a healthier look. It takes 4-5 days to really notice.

I know the leaves stay damaged buds are still getting bigger but it is spreading and getting worse on othee fan leaves i would think that if i fixed it then it would stop spreading right

Like I said, 4-5 days to see improvement. You just sprayed 2 days ago. Looking again at your picture in post #7, it looks like the damage has progressed nearly to the top of your plant. So you'll lose nearly all your fan leaves maybe. You'll still get fine bud, just not as much as you might hope.

Haha yea im just a little anxious cuz the slh buds just started filling in. Its just weird cuz it started at nearly the top of the plant. But i checked today and no more progression on the slh but it has spread more on the blue widow. I guess i just gotta wait it out and hope for the best

I'll bet you it didn't really start at the top of the plant, that's just when you noticed it. It's pretty clear in your pix that the problem is more advanced further down which would be typical.

wow, lots of disinformation on this thread

you should NOT let your coco go dry. This will cause nutrition and pH problems. lower your pH - coco is hydro - you want it @ 5.8 just like hydro, not 6.5 like soil.

what ppm do you give them?

i water a half gallon every other day. i dont have an ec meter so i dont know what the ppm is but i use distilled water, so doesnt that mean that it shouldnt be too high? my ph stays at around 6.0-6.5 should i lower it a bit?

The spots, the upward withering leaf curl, yeah, that's it. Sure, it could be caused by pH lockout, but you were using distilled without a supplement; case kinda closed.
Im with this guy, calcium def takes a while to turn round, like he said run calmag in your water from day one, RO water is not for soil grows. If you have to use RO water you need cal/mag supplement or a fert heavy in cal/mag.

Yep sure it could be pH but i doubt it, calcium uptake is directly linked to water uptake, if the plant dont drink much it dont get enough calcium since it absorbs calcium through passive intake.

Magnesium will not cure a calcium deficiency only make it worse, that is why epsom salts dont work for everyone. Buy a dedicated cal/mag supplement with the right ratios, probably 3:1 cal to mag and use to ppm water to what is needed, that is the way to regulate calmag in your water by ppm'ing it.

Ph lockout is more a myth in good amended soil. Id rather use cal/mag first than get into pH, people seem to confuse calcium or cal/mag deficiency with pH. Ph is an easy way out, getting your nutrients right is much harder and cal/mag will futher help to buffer soil so pH is less of a worry if in fact many growers need even worry about it at all in soil.

Calcium on the left and magnesium on the right, 100% calcium deficiency for this guy, spotty yellow leaves curling up, pH i think not!

Peace

He said soil in the original post and dont see where he says coco and i also believe he got too much time on his hands with the amount hes doing and adding. Peace
