Here we go... I could not figure out how to start a thread!! Anyway. I have a cabinet 2X1X5 for flowering. I am using 6 2700k cfls. I had a thought about resin glands and their function. They provide the plant protection 2 ways. One they produce a wonderful toxin known as Delta9 tetrahydrocannabinol as well as a few other cannabinoids. Two they provide UV protection from damaging UV rays from the sun, sun block. Now has anyone experimented using blacklights as a suppliment to increase resin gland production.

So I changed my lights. I have 4 23watt/6500k and 2 42watt/2700k in a small cabinet. And for flowering I am using 4 42watt/2700k and 2 10.0 UVB lights all are cfl. I like it... IT IS GOOD.

NOTE TO SELF... and anyone interested, if you use a UVB light make sure you start your seedlings with a UVB light aswell. This will avoid the burning sensation my plants must have felt as they shriveled from the UVB rays. It was like I put them in the sun except sloooowwwer.... I thought at first it was a nutrient problem, I now realize it was sun burn. Oops!!! So in order to avoid this effect start with UVB spectrum DO NOT I repeat DO NOT add UVB light to an exsiting garden... unless you want to turn it on for maybe 15 minutes a day or so. It started out very good my trichromes went from not showing at all to popping out EVERYWHERE at only 2 weeks flowering, but by week 4 the plants over all health just dramatically changed. I am sure they will bounce back but my expecdtation in yield is going to be much less, what I do get will be very potent I am sure.
