Yeah aside from i priced it up and it'll equal the same for a 250w lol
On eBay it was $30 for another light fitting, do times that by two. Then another $30 each for the 130w CFLs.
Then I'd need another 3 130w CFLs at 2700k for flowering lol
A little pricey!

Yeah that does get pricey hey :(

i reckon your best option is either the 250/400hps or 4 bulb T5HO. You can get a 90cm one on ebay for $90 i think or 2 double fittings for $120! Best thing about the T5's is you can change the bbs to get the full spectrum!

So day 11, its going slowly now but still growing.
I noticed some of the roots a little brown/see through sort of and im thinking its slight root rot

Anyways, the steelstack x skunk is starting to develope its third leaves now :)

The Kandy Kush is starting to recover now and she is able to stand on her own now. so i guess she is making a nice recovery.
She did have her longest root get attacked by root rot and it fell off. :/
But she is standing on her own now and she has many new roots poking through the rockwool :)

OK a little update
I made the plunge and I've bought a 120w LED. It has 112x1w LEDs -
620-630nm and 660nm of red, 450/460nm and 460/470nm of blue wavelength

I'll update with pics of the LED later :)
With an LED i shouldn't need to use a loud fan, and since it gets cold where i live i won't need any crazy fan to pull in enough air to cool it down.
Now i just need enough air for the plant to breathe :)
Things are looking good my friends!

grab a little 100-200 watt ufo led off of ebay, i saw a dude get one for 26$ earlier. Having an led lamp will keep it cool in there.

This is the panel in question. Fingers crossed it performs well!
If not, ill try a different manufacturers UFO. I am really hoping i didnt just waste money lol
After reading this i became even more interested in LED Tech
http://www.kulekat.com/led-home-lighting/do-led-grow-lights-work.html

Features

1)120w can replace 600W to 800W Metal Halide/HPS Grow Lights, Save 90% on electricity.
I doubt this fact, but it should perform well if the listed specs are correct

2)112x1W high power LED as a lighting source.
I forgot to ask before i purchsed, but im hoping that "High power LED" means that they are using 10mm LEDs and not 5mm

3)Lifetime over 50,000 hours.

4)We have 620-630nm and 660nm of red, 450460nm and 460470nm of blue wavelength provide .

5)Red is good for flowering, budding and blue is good for vegetative, you can choose the wavelength and color ratio which is most suitable for your plant growth.

6)Built-in cooling system (thermostatically controlled fans ) solve the heat dissipation excellently.

7)Built-in power supply, CE approved, No setup required, just simpler and safer plugs directly into AC120V/220V, no reflector & ballast needed.

8)Ideal for all phases of plant growth, and works well with any indoor garden, whether hydroponics or soil based.

9)The lighting area and height above the plant can be changed according to different plants and environment, and also technical parameters are changed.

10)With CE & ROHS approval.

My LED should be in tomorrow, i might have it in the cab running as well just to test it out even tho the walls arent done :)

and i think ive found my containers. 2x 18 litre / 4.7 gallon containers. so ill have roughly 6.75 / 1.7 gal of water/nutes in there
i know its not that much but i dont have much height to play with. so ive just got to remember this is still a micro grow and that things are on the smaller scale :)

ill have 450mm / 1 foot 6 inches in height to play with. after that itll get closer then 6 inches to the LED and thats what they think is too close.
Two plants that size under a scrog net that might be a foot high might be ok in my set up.. fingers crossed

What do you all think? any helpful ideas? i am keen to stay hydro because ive bought everything else for it. so ill follow it through.
might try something like TGA subcools supersoil next tho as it might be better in the space i have

Sweet man, 450mm should just get you through. As long as your scrog net sits just on top of the pots. If you start training your plants early you should scrape through :) nice work dude!!

yea ill keep it as trained as i can for my firs time
if it will grow roughly two times the height when i change from veg to flower then ill probably flower at 200mm / 8 inches
that way if it doubles itll be 400mm / 16 inches and still give me a couple inches of room left for the light :)

Nice looking grow you got going praiseodin ! Hope the light works out for you as well as mine are working out for me so far ! Def put the light in right away so you can check the temps and dial it in before throwing the ladies into their new home ..looking forward to watching this one play out as i have always been hesitant to try anything but soil..maybe you will change that

We will see how it goes hey, I think I'm battling a little root rot as allot of the root tips are discolored, not all but allot.
And it's slowed down growth now and turned the leaves slightly yellow and pointing them down
I need a quick way to battle root rot!
Any ideas?

Ok, got way too high and decided to indeed germ the rest of my 3 THC Bomb reg. and also 1 of my Dr.Grinspoon fem. for shits and giggles .
Ill just pick the best 2 or 3 after a week or two of veg :)

ENJOY THE MADNESSSSS !

The only seeds ive ever tried. Im might keep the collection for failed attemps lol

The cubes chilling in 5.7pH water for a day.

The seeds chilling in pHed water in their seperate pods with a temp gauge to keep an eye on them as they chill on top of a heater

Ha ha sweet mate! Hopefully your other ones pull through so you got a few to choose from! How are you going to tell if any are males? Are you going to take cuttings once the show?
