ok, so I was gonna get the co2 bucket, but they were out. So I got a tank and a regulator.
I went and bought a timer. The tank is set at 2-2.5-3ish cfh. THe timer has 48 push button settings, so total of 24 on off combos. So each one should be 30 minutes, right?
As I have it set now, it has two push bottom setting thingies (cheap wood timer) that should be 30 min a set, if I thought properly, and during the 12 hours of light I have four sets of 30 min with co2 going in at said rate. Help from people that know more thn me would be appreciated, I am not willing ot put an more money into this setup tho, so the help must be knowledge based.
How long will my tank last? Does this seem ok?
I have a carbon filter at the top sucking air through then going through the air cooled light then out, but co2 is heavier than air so im hoping I dont have too much co2 go out.... I need that light constantly air cooled or it will be too hot.
I have two intakes for air at the bottom, one about 400 cfm and the other from my house ducting (the thermostat is set with fan on always :) ) and help is appreciated, sorry if Im rambling

All you are doing is wasting yoru Co2 you are sucking it right out through the hood. If you dont believe me I can almost guarantee you will be refiling your tank every 3-5 days if not sooner. I would just put the carbon scrubber on the floor with a fan attached to it to help mask odors. To cool your light you need to be pulling air from another room or anywhere thats not in your grow room and provides somewhat cool air yo help keep things cool. Your plants munch on the co2 at lights on and in return make fresh oxygen and you scrubber on the floor will scrub whatever stale air you have lurking plus keep things from smelling like a skunk. If you have a properly sealed room you shouldnt have to refill your tank but a couple times. You basically have to seal eerything including the hood co2 will get sucked through those cracks too, weatherstripping on doors etc..You wont ever get a 100% sealed room but you want to get it as sealed as possible.

I was worried I would lose alot, but co2 is heavier than air, so should a decent amount be used?

Co2 for green houses and grow rooms should be at 1200PPM - 1500PPM during lights on period. No co2 should be running when lights are off. If you arent using a co2 monitor or dont know how to calculate how long you need to run your timers and regulators to get 1500PPM then I wouldnt even waste my time or money. Filling up a co2 tank ( depending on size) for instance mine is a 20LB tank and I own the tank so all I do is exchange them at a welding supply store but even that costs 20.00 a exchange. If you have leaks and a fan sucking out your co2 you will probably be filling up your tank every 3 days - 1 week I know from experience.

I know no co2 at night. I have it on my timer with my lights, so it turns off when the lights do. If htis makes sense, I have a timer on a timer. So for the 12 hrs light th etimer for the co2 releases it in 4 30 min intervals, at 2.5cfh.
Thats what im asking about

yes. Get co2 out of your head.. and invest in somethign that will actually help you.
co2 is for professional growers who have been doing this for years and need an extra kick and have a perfect set and a whole greenhouse or large room with advanced ventilation, lighting and other things

what a waste of space and money and time.

i used to use a mid sized CO2 tank. one day the full tank was standing in the kitchen and the seal broke. it slamed against the wall and made a HUGE whooshing sound. i'm not talking about a mid size crash and noise, i'm talking HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!!!! kind of noise.
if that would have happend while in the trunk of my car, YIKES!

after that incident, i came to the conclusion that CO2 wasn't really needed after all! :)
