Bulbs; especially 1000 watt hps.

The tests were done with presumably new bulbs. I think it is equally, if not more important to see what the bulbs put out after, say, 1k hours.

I have been using eye hortilux super hps bulbs since around 2006. I have never looked back.

HID lamps have a break in period, and should be burned for 100 hours before they are measured for their performance. Not sure they did that.

Where was the info for the apollo? Thanks for the link above. It is cool info. :eyesmoke: I think replacing bulbs every grow is a good idea if you can. I would agree the 1000 hour test is just as important if not more.
No apollo. I think it would compare to the maxlume; they cost the same.

Well the point of the video experiment was to show that the $25 bulb doesn't work as well as the $65-$75 hortilux.

It's true the spectrum is a big factor my hortilux bulbs/agrogrow had faster growth and healthier looking vegetation then when I used the cheaper mh that I tried from my hydro store the color was more blue too and the cheaper bulbs where like a bright white color plants like good spectrums and just seemed to grow healthier
