Hello Hard Hat, I'm trying to make my first grow room this weekend, I have a closet with mirrored doors, the size is 22' width, 71' long and 96' high, I have a 22 1/2 in ceiling opening that leads to the attic and it has a one bulb light socket in it. I will be using a 600 wt bulb. Any suggestions on how i should approach this? Oh yeah, the only way I will be able to get power to the closet will be an extension cord and power strips.

Got a few questions... Will you be growing in the closet or in the attic? If attic, how big is it? Is it insulated? How many plants? How many amps does your service panel run? Can you install a sub panel if you need to? Your gonna have to run a few other accessories along with the light... fans, water pumps & the list goes on... Do you plan on hand watering or setting up an automated system? And finally what's your budget? I can guarantee that one light socket won't run anything other than a basic incandescent bulb. You could setup a 4x4 tray with 16 plants and a 600w light will work just fine... a 1000w would be even better!

After many years of keeping chickens, I disided to quit. I cleaned everything up and painted the shed. After Im done framing, insulating, drywall, and taping, the inside will be 7' X 10'. I woukd like to create 2 rooms, small veg and large bloom but I haven't designed a room like this before. If you could design the ultimate setup, how would you do it? Only rule is the entry is on the 7' end. Thanks

dont mean to threadjack but i love playing in paint. If i had a 7'X10' shed i would seperate it into a veg room thats 4'X7' and a flowering room that is 6'X7'. In one of the corners of the veg room id put some sort of cabinet large enough to cure all of your bud and just run 2 600W MH on 4' Light movers and then 2 1000W hps in the flowering room on 6' light movers.

I have a 12x14 bedroom I'm using as a grow room and need advice on a filter/scrubber and circulation. Traditional duct work in the ceiling I'd like to make use of. Adding a fan to boost the circulation is enough in conjunction with a 6" oscillating fan? http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-GrowBright-4in-Inline-Fan-&-Carbon-Filter-Combo.asp
Plan to close off part of the space, so end size will by 14x8. Also need to mitigate smell (ducting is isolated but...). Not sure if this set up would be sufficient or how to install it. http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-10in-Max-Fan-1019-CFM-by-CAN.asp
Any advice much appreciated (total nub here - on all levels).

Split the room into two rooms by framing out a 7' long dividing wall using 2x4's as well as creating a rough opening for a 26" wide interior door between the two rooms. As you enter the shed you will stand in the front veg/control room which should measure 3x7... the flower room will be the next room and should measure 7x7... The idea is that you will be flowering in a 4x4 flood tray which should be up against the back wall with approximately 18" on either side of the tray and approximately 2' between the center wall and the forward edge of the tray. Also, before you close up the walls you will need to run your electrical system. Once all that is done then you can move forward with choosing things like water systems, lighting etc. Make sure you insulate the shed and center wall well!! Hope that helps in getting you started. keep me posted and when your ready to move forward let me know.

Is this an air tight setup? Are you using an A/C? CO2? If so just go with a scrubber set-up... A Can 75 filter with a 10" or 12" Oracle fan will be fine for a room 14x8. If it runs too loud put a muffler on it to help quiet it down. If it's an open air setup then your gonna have to duct it to blow outside through a window or another opening. Just know that it's still gonna smell up your bedroom and any room attached to it. Dryer vents can work with smaller setups. DON'T exhaust into your existing A/C and heating vents. That will just smell up your entire house. For circulation I would go with an additional osculating fan and one bigger than 6"...
