are lady bugs or any other such predator of insects even be reasonable for an outdoor grow? I mean what's stopping them from just flying away and finding another plant?

Yo, to me that looks like worms. I had this problem last year but not until my plants were flowering. Moths will fly onto your plant and lay eggs on the undersides of the leaves, the eggs hatch and then feast on your leaves. Worst case scenario is the eggs are planted in the bud and the worm uses the bud as a cocoon. It will shit and rot your buds and eat them from the inside. but your plants are just starting out. I would examine your plants thoroughly, under leaves and all looking for little off-white eggs or small worms themselves, and kill them all. I dont know of any non-pesticide remedies...Cheers

Pincher bugs do that kind of damage also. Spray it with a mild soap to water solution. That usually takes care of all insects.

Hi, Seems the stuff I got from a local shop has worked with the black flies. My plants are now 8weeks old and just beginning to show signs of flowering, the room stinks but not much evidence of forming buds yet. Anyone out there know if this is normal? Thanks, Happy growing!
