Blackbird - Cherry Soda Twist ( #1 )

Well , looks like she is on her last days . She hasn’t been drinking as much any more and flowers feel a bit hardened. so I gave her a lady plain water drink - hence the fade. Pistils are all colored off and she reeks of sweet spice. I’m gonna let her dry one last time and give her a pre-harvest trim in a day or two.

The other Cherry Twist has some time left ( white pistils ) , so no hurry. The White Weddings have some time left too.

Hempy Time -

So far so good … managed to get some early training on these ugly duckling re-Veg clones ( white wedding ) .
They are now growing 3 finger leaf over single finger - so I’m just gonna keep trucking along until some normalcy happens.
They are easily taking 750 ppm Maxigrow.

I also topped the Humboldt Blueberry Muffin- and the new shoots are already shooting up.

Running the Agromax Pure Par bulbs for most of the cycle. Every 6th hour of 18/6 cycle - for 30 minutes ( timer ).
No magic intended - just experimenting. It just kind of made sense to light it in “ blocks of time “. Cali temps are a bit cooler lately and some minor chill nights have been noted - but not yet any need for heaters.

Took this one down and did a basic pre-trim ( I will clean it up better ). She is in pot ( drying ) for a little bit before I chop stalk.
I figured I would do a trim job upfront to get that chore started. I was almost tempted to leave some minor leaf and bud for a reveg but soil is done .

She reeks of sweet earthy fruit and will be going into grove bags once drying is done . For a lousy 1 gallon grow bag , it worked out ok.
The other one has some pistil growth still and will go until wheels fall off.

Blackbird LED rig really helped it out in later stages and am very happy with results - all on the 3rd setting !
I may try bump up on power with hempy buckets when those grow enough to be moved into blackbird tent.

HEMPY -

Speaking of which …. I have spread dem bitches wide. Time to get those inner shoots to go vertical.
They have been growing very well so far . A little cooler lately in the casa but nothing to crazy with nighttime temps.

They got a foliar treat a little while ago for good behavior.
There is more recognizable leaf growing out - so those single fans won’t get clipped just yet.

Blackbird - White Wedding

These are getting down to the wire pretty soon - maybe around turkey day. It has been a struggle with medium exhausting ( 1 gallon bag ) and my goof up of not going 3 gallon or larger. Anyways , it is what it is.

They are still drinking and eating fairly regularly / drying out every other day. Even with a slow , methodical watering to get full saturation they get light in a day or so. I plan a run with some new strains that will take over the QB96 tent once I move hempy buckets out.

They will also go hempy or hybrid coco / hempy. I will show them in next post.

Anyways the Ethos White Wedding are frosty bitches , So hopefully smoke is worth it.

She has been drying in pot for bit and got chopped. I began to run the cannabrush over her to begin final trim.
I also began to break down some colas ( bottom nugs ) for Grove bags. I will jar them to see what hygrometer tells me before the get the bag.
Thus one lousy gallon plant is seriously funky and frosted although out.

I think this will be tried out after turkey day or so. :bigjoint:
I still have the 2 white weddings “ drying in pot “ until I feel most of the outer leaf is dried - so I can do a fast clean up with the canna brush then chop once more drying is done.

The Hempy pots are now under the Blackbird - and will update later.

Blackbird Bud - Cherry soda twist #1

They’ve been in the grove bags for about a week now and are hardening up more. I will probably leave them as trimmed as they are - canna brush did the initial clean up and I keep them for myself , vet buddies and cats. So no real need to beautify them. Their stank is what matters.

I do archive pics occasionally for strains , just to show my “ buds “ to my buds ….. lol.

But rather just get my smoke on.

Blackbird is doing very well and together with my DIY QB304 / COB rig they will be the main lights I use.
I have some new blood - Muchacha F7 autos and a Zittlez BX2 in some pots under my T5HO right now too.

Blackbird - The Purge :cuss:

Well , gave those 2 Barney’s Ayahuasca Plants enough time to turn around - decided to shitcan them. They exhibit strange , ugly mutated growth .
Why spend anymore resources on them ?

I usually give a “ breeder “ 3 chances on their gear …. Their Tangerine dream was also a hot mess. Plants were originally under typical 18/6 Veg starts , then 12/12 flip. After that came the mutant growth / weird single and 3 leaf growth throughout. Stem rub produce nothing notable. Obviously this strain is not worked very well . 2 remaining seeds were germed but didn’t survive.

This part of the reason I took cuttings from the ETHOS white wedding plants. But not all is lost ……..

The Cherry Soda Twist ( my cross ) ( Black Cherry Soda x Cherry Do-Si-Do ) plant is thriving beautifully pulled from the QB96 TENT. …. You can see the heavier sativa swing in these girls … and is now under the Blackbird .

I do change outs with that QB96 rig.

I can leave QBs off / load 6400k lamps and start cups / clones. That is literally starting a grow from scratch with same rig .
As grow continues - I power up or do bulb swaps to help harden the early growth.
I have some early 4000k QB boards that I used before ( stored ) , they worked well.
I used to be running 3500k blended rigs like QB304 , etc.…. I don’t get into the egghead sciencey stuff. But look at bumping certain kelvin.

That’s why I like the Sunblaster - easy germ starts then I can do swap to Super Veg or Pure Par ( red/blue hue ) to get them started .
It’s like having multiple lamps within one main rig.

The Pure Par bulbs I think are discontinued ( red/blue hue ) - thank god I snagged 2.

I like tinkering and have made all of my original HLG rigs.

Batwing - Early Mod Lamp ( Original HLG 304 boards - 3 independent drivers )

Boards bought when HLG was known as Northern Grow Lights ( used sticker that came with boards )
This started like as a shit Mars Hydro light - I gutted it / added an HLG board / added side board wings ( QB304 ) aluminum short rails.
Early HLG boards were tested as pairs with Vf handwritten on each board to work together.
Saved internal fans / fan driver for air flow ( works really well ) added small simple 100watt drivers ( each board ). Mounted to rear edge.
Repainted that shit mars case to a hammered finish ( rustoleum ) came out clean as shit.

Actually my favorite build. :bigjoint:

You might want to check out 1000bulbs.com I think they still sell those bulbs you are talking about in all spectrums.

‘Alright boys and germs ….. CST smoke report ( Cherry soda Twist )

well , began hitting this shit about 3-4 days now , and it’s high is something I might be overthinking.
Its high …. is way head cloudy / disorient / numbing body high. Literally a rolled J by myself is kind of scary.
Like when you know you are drunk but “ try “ not to look drunk kind of feeling. Dull , calm feeling. Very body chill but not locked.
Seems to relax my back which is good.

sorry if it’s hard to picture what I’m saying … I’m more sativa spoiled I guess.
Listening to Subdocta really amps it up …. Lol.

Blackbird - A Christmas Story :weed:

As 2022 winds down and waiting for KRAMPUS to grab trump by his mushroom dick and toss his fat ass in the slammer , I figured I would tell you about the next run under this great rig.

I tend to run perpetually so whatever rig I use better keep up. White Wedding has been jarred and grove bagged so I will update results later.
This trio of plants are in a layered mix …. Using the last of my peat mix. I amended with 20% EWC ( per container volume ) and DTE Granular
Humic acid . Inner mix has pumice / top soil blended with more perlite.

2 Muchacho F7 autos
1 Zkittlez BX2 REG

My experiment is running 20/4 upfront to push Veg across board …… autos will transition when ready , but Zkittlez will go up to desired Veg then flipped. I don’t have any concerns about autos moving to a standard flower cycle since by the time I “ decide “ the length of Veg for zkittlez the autos will be further into flower and 12/12 cycle will just finish off their late stage growth.

Plus with training on the Zkittlez, it will just allow more time to keep it under Veg as autos progress.

Bonus run :

6 Berta 2.0

These were from that large Berta plant I ran awhile back - wifey likes the high ( blue dream like ).
So to shut her yap , I popped 6 from my seeding project off of that original plant.
:bigjoint:

They are getting their photons from my Sun Blaze T5HO 48 lamp and timer.

Those plants will be split among the blackbird and my other QB96 rig later on.
Cups are in a recycled mix amended with DYNOMYCO.
They were just placed in solos ( rooter plug ).

Anyhoot …. Figured I would update this thread.
