Buds losing smell?

Hey guys

I'm late into flowering and the buds are starting to lose their smell. I think it's heat and light stress. One of the buds close to the light just shriveled up and died. The others are doing OK but ripening at different speeds, or starting to smell like fruit?!! Should I just cut my losses now and harvest before they degrade any further? All advice appreciated.

4 Northern Lights
600 watt HPS
FFOF soil
Watered once every 5 days with Dyna-Gro bloom, 5 mg/gallon
54 days since flip
Temp: 65-85 (but maybe too hot near canopy?)
Humidity: 45

In my experience heat can have a horrible effect on smell and quality. I used to max out at 84, now I max out at 81 and the difference is incredible, same strains I have been running same nutes same light, just reduced the maximum heat by 3 degrees and seen so much improvement over my crop.

If you can't lower the inside temp I would try to get fans that move as much air as you can

Thanks BMWEATER. I've lowered the temp about 5 degrees but fear the damage may already be done. Should I chop them down or wait a little and hope the smell comes back?

You need to look at the trich to decide to harvest or not. You could be missing out on some time or be ready to go.

I wouldn't chop them anytime soon. Lots to go yet.
Check that damaged bit for bud rot, just to be safe. Open it up if you can see if there is any grey/brown inside. First sign is bronze leafs that die off because the stem has rotted at the stalk. Might not be an issue, but it can happen when shit gets fried.
Northern lights was a popular strain back in the day pre carbon filters because it doesn't have as strong of a smell.

Hopefully the lack of smell is due to strain, not indicative of damage. Although I swear it was stinking up the entire room a couple weeks ago. Maybe I've spent so much time in here that my nose is desensitized.

You will be good, its great you caught it now. Keep those temps low, keep the fans moving. Check those trichs with a jewelers lens and pull when you have the right amber/cloudy ratio you like. Northern Lights is a very forgiving strain, especially if you still have atleast 1 week the plant can return to producing the right oils
