Hi, i'm using the book as a guide, and now it's flowering for a month. Last two days the leaves are wilting down. I've brought the lights closer for better results. Here's the link where you can see some pics. https://www.rollitup.org/1244705-post14.html

About the pH you could be right. Last time i watered, i noticed that my pH pen was showing 6.5 instead of 7.5, so i've calibrated it again.
Now, what do I do? Just make sure next time i water that the pH is right? Do I leave the lights so close?

I've been using CFL's for more than a year, while my friend has used sodium. My yield has been about 4x his consistently, not to mention about 20% the cost for electricity.

Good going gk.. I've been using cfl's for almost 2 years and I've been VERY succeessful with my various harvests. I've been trying to get the word out about cfl's , now there's a book I can point to for those skeptical folks.. I don't share my grow with anyone!! I'll spread the word about your book!!!

What kind of CFLs do you use for vegging? Would I be alright with 27w? How different would it be from using 42w?

Oh snap DAM GK I use that book like a journal. I am somewhere around day 40. I couldn't veg for 24 hours so my growth is a little slower. I am growing some NL Special from KC Brains. my first 2 plants from the batch are females!!!!! I am stoked. one is like 23 inches the other is 17 inches. There not bushy like yours they go straight up and have only a few leaves. Buds seem to be coming in nice. what do you think?

more watts is mo betta..
i have not done ay growing with anything less than 42watts...
so I am not speaking from experience....
If you are going to go through the effort of gorowing I would go with the bigger bulb..

I have a question, I hope it isn't too stupid. I'm very excited to be starting my grow, and attempting to model it after your book.
My question is about the count of CFL's. On Day 5 you say that you expanded the CFL count to 8 CFL's, by using splitters.
But in the how to make a basic light set up section at the beginning, you have 3 light fixtures. If I add splitters to my 3 light fixtures, I of course only wind up with 6 bulbs.
Was I supposed to add a fourth light fixture somewhere?
Can I get away with 6 bulbs for 3 plants? I don't really have room for more, so if I can't, should I only go with 2 plants?

I purchased this book a while back. This is a very good resource. Although I am no expert, I am no beginner either. I consult it from time time. Excellent photographs show the day to day progression of a CFL grow.

splitters inside of splitters
allowed for 8 bulbs in 3 fixtures.. your question is not stupid.. it is my book that should be more clear..6 bulbs will be adequate.. just be vigilant about bulb placement and proximity to foliage.. the more BULB surface area you can keep near the foliage of the plant, the better.. it does not matter if it is coming from the top or sides...
it is the surface area (of bulb) to surface are of foliage that should be your primary focus..
