Well, not a whole lot to say at this point. I have GrapeApe, Snowcap, Blueberry Kush, and some bagseed. Clones started 2 days ago and looking strong!

Vegging under 6 17w fluoro grow lights @ 7800k from Walmart. They worked pretty good for vegging my first two grows to start. As soon as I can I'm going to build another Rubbermaid box and throw 6 lights in there as well. I may run t5's on that one, but it'll have to wait until after Christmas. I'm running an 85cfm 4" comp fan from Radio Shack pulling air through from a passive 4" intake. Complete air exchange about 15times a minute. Constant temps of 76-78.

I'm running with Master's Nursery Gardener's Gold Organic. I used Roottone powder for my clones and haven't started any nutes yet. I'm hoping I get my free samples from Fox Farm before it's time to start nutes.

Well, I finally have rooted clones! 2 weeks in I only have about a 70% success rate, but I'm still excited that I got that since I've never been too successful at it. I still plan to build Rumple's cloning bucket, just gotta wait till I can afford materials.

Come on in! I was just getting ready to post an update.

Well, I now have 5 newly transplanted Snowcap clones. I also have 4 bagseed to throw into the mix(2 strains). I had 14 cuttings to start, lost 1 after 4-5 days(grapeape:sad:), 7 of 9 Snowcap clones rooted( gave away two because of space limitations that are soon to be solved), and re-cut, hormoned, and replanted the remaining unrooted cuttings after splitting the stem trying to promote growth.

With any luck at all, space issues will be solved as we are preparing to move into a home with an extra bedroom after Jan 1. Can't wait to claim that room!

Well, transplanted 5 of my ladies. Took some pics but had to use my son's camera since I couldn't find mine. They are nice and healthy now as well as I have 4 bagseed going too. Forced one to sex already and she's a her! Waiting on the other three to show.

Well, here I am again. Found my camera and finished transplanting as best I can while preparing to move. This grow, #3, doesn't have me too worried because they are all contained in 1 rubbermaid tote, but #2 is going to be finishing up flower(week 8) when it's time to move. I refuse to chop early and am working on the plan to transport them at night. The move is only about 3 blocks, but I don't very well want to walk down the street with nearly mature plants.

Anyway, I now have 8 happy rooted clones, three undetermined bagseed given to me by a friend and a female bagseed from a stash a couple years ago. I threw the female bagseed into my flower closet for about 4 days and she showed. Now I've had her in 18/6 for about 5 days now and I guess I'll see what happens.

I can't wait to get into our new place after Jan1 because I have already gotten permission from my wife to commandeer the extra bedroom. It's a 10X12' I believe so I'll probably only use the back half and then use the front half for storage. Lotta work to do though. Hoping to have it ready for flowering the 3rd grow. I also still have to find a way to get my 5 currently flowering ladies to the new place. Jan1 is about 1 1/2-2 weeks early to harvest so I'm going to probably transport at night. Not worried about PD because of my license, but don't want to invite the neighborhood into my grow either. I'mk thinking late at night, pull into the back and bring 'em in. Only concern is interupting my light schedule since I have to pull my lights, get them set up at the new place, and then transport the plants. So, I may leave a couple cfl's with the plants while I move and set up lights. Hope I don't stress them too much!

They'll be fine, I figure. Get to go for a ride! They'll be thrilled.

Speaking of lighting schedules...I'm experimenting. Right now, I'm using 45 min on / 15 min off. Don't tell anybody, but I've never had a plant so happy, grow so fast, and look so good. The auto, anyway. The reg (Blue Mystic) looks a little confused, but I'll make it up to her. If she turns out to be a legitimate her. And this is under just 36w of LED.

I don't have a digital camera, I'm old school, and I like my equipment, but no pics at the moment.

Just between you and me and the lampost, ok? I'm getting weary of defending my outofthebox methods, regardless how successful.

I'm ALWAYS open to outside the box thinking. That's the only way to advance anything. Hell, Hitler almost ruled the world because he "though outside the box". I'm always up for experimenting. I loved chemistry. I figure that as long as I don't change the whole set-up at once, I can experiment to my hearts content. As I build up my new growroom I plan on setting up a small "tent" for experimentation. Run 90% of my plants with known and tested methods and then just experiment the heck out of the other 10%. That way if I do something and kill it or make it less potent, then I still won't run out of good smoke.

My wife actually came up with the idea of opening our own business that grows and sells veggies and fruit and also has a "collective" side to get other people educated and prepared to grow for themselves. It wouldn't be a real big money-making business, but I could cover all costs, make a little extra money, and most importantly, encourage and help the next generation of growers.

Idk why this popped into my head other than it seems a little "out there" to me, but while viewing an organic growing forum I learned that there are people that use menstrual blood as a fert for their plants. Said it's been done for centuries. They even have a "cup-like" container that a woman can wear to collect the discharge. Well, I think I'll stick to guano for MY needs.

I also hate when people bash others for unconventional or experimental ideas in growing. For crying out loud, it's a WEED! It can take some abuse. Furthermore, what would our world be like today in Ben Franklin, the Wright brothers, and others had not thought out of the box?

Yeah, "outside the box"...that's what I meant...I knew I'd messed that up. But, it's how I've always been. I've studied nature intently since I can remember, and I love being in tune with the natural processes. Gratuitously pushing the envelope seems very different than inspired testing of possilities and potentials. Even counterintuitive methods sometimes yield insights that rattle the status quo. Love that! Hate the status quo. Not comfortable spending too much time in that crowd.

It's funny you mentioned your brainstorm, I just listened to a fellow that has been warning that food is fixing to be critically in short supply. He said even the elitist fatcats will feel the crunch, and that it will be a very bad scene. I'm turning a spare walk-in shower into an indoor vegetable garden. My grasp of the problem ahead isn't as well-informed as the guy I heard, but even I have read the handwriting on the wall.

So, I think your idea is a very good one. And people that scoff at the possibility of food shortage in America will soon be screaming the loudest for some way to feed themselves.

Now I just need to figure out a way to have a couple of chickens. ;-)

Our own gov't has started the food shortage and is pushing harder. The new legislation(hb513?) they basically outlaw any small garden if the veggies are sold, traded, or donated. You will now have to pay federal fees and get a gov't licens to sell your tomatoes at the local farmer's market. The chickens go in the mulch-pile bin. Added nitrogen!

Just the chickenshit goes in the mulch-pile bin. The eggs go in my omelets.

edit: Oh, you mean have them live there. doh

There's a good thread about that food bill. btw

budlover13

King Tut
Yeah, I read the thread and the bill and then contacted my two senators(Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein HELP!) regarding this. Boxer didn't respond but Feinstein said she co-authored the bill and believes it is important to food safety. I can understand the ruse of food safety that they use. I mean, who wants tainted food right? BUT, the day they try to come take my garden for giving veggies to family and those in need, I believe I will revert back to combat training and at LEAST make sure a good news story come out of it. I'm as peaceful as they come, I've seen to much unrest in my life already, but peaceful doesn't mean "pushover that won't fight".

Of course. If people would save their fighting for when it is truly justified, it would be a far more peaceful world. But when push comes to shove, you've got to do what you've got to do.

Someone should tell Diane and Barbara that the problem with the bill isn't what's good about it, but what's bad about it. And there is plenty bad.
