They don't look so hot. How do you know you've bud worm, is their any outward signs or is it just something you have to keep your eye out for? I'm growing outdoors in Ireland and I've been pretty lucky on the bug front!

 I have squished at least 20 so far, you have to be vigallent find the little black poop spots then search the buds, leaves, every where. i have even found them trying to make an exscape on a web heading for the ground. i have been to afraid to use any sprays, don't want to spoil her goodness:weed:

I had em bad last year. Ended up uprooting all my plants early and hanging them upside down. Once the plants strarted drying out the worms tried to run.Once upside down the worms will try to escape to the ground like spiderman. I hear there are some bugs you can buy to combat them. I had a giant worm I kept in a jar with foil wrapped on the top just to try to see what it would turn into. I had it for a couple of weeks with leaves in the jar and went out to look at it one morning and there was a hole about a quarter inch diameter in the foil !! Worm made his escape and hasnt been seen since.Ate right through the foil. Havent had the worm problem this year yet knock on wood. Seems like by the time they are about a 1/2 inch to a inch long they have been around a while. Those are just the ones you can see. If you can see the big ones there are probably a hell of a lot of em that are about a 1/4 inch long that you cant see. Those little ones are the ones that started spinning webs to escape the plants i hung upside down. Didnt use last years soil this year though like last year. I hear they burrow down in the soil and come up the next year and wreak havoc again.

spidermen. i've been there.

it rained lightly yesterday. i sprayed a lot of Bt. rain nhelped wash it down inside the buds. hopefully this will kill any that have made it this far. i have been find dead ones here and there so i assume the Bt is working. it's just once they get down inside the tight bud it's gone.
