I would like to see a close pic if this is mold cause I've never had it...knock on wood....and while I certainly I hope you don't have it for your sake but if you it would be nice to see.
The spot Mr. Head pointed out was the suspect looking area I noticed too.

I am going to say you have budrot...the leaves are a tell tale sign...they will turn brownish and the center of the bud will have the rot close to the stem...bend the bud back a little to look inside the bud...see if the stem is gray or brownish....if it is cut the rotted plant matter out and spray with a mix of water and hydrogen peroxide...it will kill spores an rot...but you need to remove any rotted matter,,

the big picture makes it a lot clearer. looks very much like botrytis, harvest immediately making sure to remove all infected matter.

Harvest immediately? It has beenin flower for a while but was still waiting on the trichs turning. Should I harvest it's sister's early too if there will be a spore issue?

once the spores start to fly it's only a matter of time before bud rot starts popping up everywhere. you may get away with keeping the plants flowering but i wouldn't risk it. that plant looks done enough to harvest imo

Not rot. You either under watered really bad, or stem burroweres. Moth and butterfly lave hatch on weed and they eat into the buds and stems killin the bud above.

Pull on the buds around the stem. They are dead and drying too. Get them off and look for the caterpillar eating it. Looked at bigger pic and sure it's caterpillar.

Best to always have a fungicide on hand. Theres alot of work for you to do to get the spores out of your grow. Do you have other plants in your grow effected?

Here's the close ups as promised. The leaves didn't break away so easily. They broke or crumbled before they broke away at the stem. That meant I couldn't check the stem for mould. I'll prise it open a bit and see what's what.

Theirs no doubt you have botrytis....if you let us know at what stage you are, it can possible be fixed. But you have to act now. Botrytis can spread fast in the right conditions. It spread threw my outdoor crop in 12 hours...lost 5lbs. Let me know how many plants are effected and at what stage , we can try to help you fix it.

Yeah bud rot.
Sucks.

Dont be in denial for too much longer. Need to act fast. You already knew, waste of time asking imo.

But wait, maybe it's CATERPILLARS?? lol

Fix your air problem for next time. Late in flower do not let rh get up above 60% at all costs!

Shame, cause that looks like you did a good job right up until you fucked it all up:wall:

Good luck on the next my friend

Took your advice folks and set about her with the shears. Here's a few pics to show the extent. Thankfully it doesn't appear to be anywhere else on her.

Unfortunately I spotted it on another baby, also on the top, so have given her a haircut also.

Moved them away from the healthy girls.

The two which got it weren't as well fanned as the others. Do you think this was the problem?

Also, on inspection I began to spot some amber trichs so decided it's harvest time.

Mold is a living substance. Just because you cut the top off one plant doesn't mean spores haven't already been released in your cab that will show up later. Be careful and clean everything well after you move your plants out before moving more in.

I have heard people use milk spray on the moldy plant before messing with it so as to kill the spores before they are released while handling.

What is your temp and humidity in your room?

Ya bud, good call on the chop. Some in the bag is better than none in the bag. And yokels got a good point...what is the humidity in the room. The one thing ive learned about mold is it loves to come back. You need to get more airflow and less humidity, or your going to see this happen again and again. Time to open up the wallet and get a dehu and some more occolating fans or a bigger intake fan. My friend has a 12" inline that sucks so hard its almost impossible to open the door. You need two hands and to lean into it to pull it open. Thats what you need lol :) hope the smokes good :):):)

The temp is around 79 and the humidity usually around 40.

I will go all out OCD cleaning the tent! I have been intending to get another intake so will make that a priority.

Will the bud be ok during drying or is this shit still going to be lurking?

Cheers again guys :)
