Bud rot....

I've been growing 4 plants for a while now and probably 3 weeks from harvest and the california wild fires blocked out the sun and shot up the humidity. Now I am experiencing bud rot on 1 plant and will have to chop it. Wondering what I can do with the unaffected buds. I'm needing to wash them how can I prevent it from happening in drying process.

If it’s Grey mold don’t smoke it make edibals 325f for 5 min...if it’s Aspergillus throw it out that shit can kill you in extreamly small doses no way to tell with naked eye as they both look very similar I ran into bud rot and chopped early 20zips total... i looked at it under a 1200x microscope luckily it was just grey mold...130-160f for 5min will kill grey mold and it’s spores...still if some one smokes it and is allergic to penicillin it can kill them...also even a healthy person with no allergies will get a month long episode of coffin your fucking brains out to the point of blood getting mixed with lung butter been their 2x... aspergillus produces mycotoxins that are extreamly hard to destroy 500f for 16minutes...take the hit and make edibals I strongly suggest green dragon decarb you dry weed at 325f for 5 minutes after grinding it up to saw dust... take it out and mix into a mason jar with 190 proof everclear at a ratio of 3.5g of bud to 2oz of everclear and simmer it in a double boiler method untill it’s reduced to at least half....it’s sucks man but no way around it...please don’t smoke that shit

Cut the bud rot out and let the rest of the plant finish. If you do a bud wash, swing the plant to get most of the moisture off and use fans and dehumidifier to get the excess water off.

Since your plant is still alive its most likely just botrytis, which targets living plants, and not aspergillus which targets dead plant material aka dried flower. You can ID it with a black light as aflatoxins from aspergillus will fluoresce green under black light.

Here in the cold north we get something else in late September to October - Botrytis cinerea, especially in Southern Ontario where the wine grape growers spay it on purposely. If unidentifiable, I'd throw out the affected bud and just make bubble hash of the rest. It's just one plant, and heck outdoor plants I just grow to make hash out of anyway. I'm prejudice because it's my favorite form of concentrate. I do smoke bud, but only occasionally and not since this virus thing started. Lol

water curing maybe possible, Look into it dude
water curing is not a technique used for salvaging moldy material. It should be thrown out unless you have proper laboratory equipment and are 100% positive you only have botrytis and no aflatoxins present, it can be filtered out and made into concentrate or edibles.

As long as you keep it below 190f on an electric heating Element you’ll be fine I’ve done it dozens of times

First time seeing botrytis due to same conditions as OP. Harvested when things got bad and lost all the big buds. The remaining buds look beat up. Next time I see botrytis, I plan on terminating without further ado.

Yeah mine ended up not being bud rot to my knowledge and I think it was all due to bud worms. The plants got invested and we had to cut away half our plants and they are still getting attacked we are letting them ripen as much as possible before we cut as one of the plants barely got into flower.

Should always have a consistent IPM regimen regardless of current weather, Plant Therapy/Bio Green Cleaner and a few Morrone Bio Innovations products such as Regalia will keep all these issues at bay
