Bud rot - Should I be worried?

Hey guys,

I live in a dry part of the world, and I've never had any problems with rot in the past, hence I don't have much knowledge on the subject.

my current grow is producing some of the biggest, dense colas I've grown to date. And my tent is packed full of flowers.

I have good air flow, but on the rare overcast day my humidity does rise.

what should I be looking out for? Is one overcast day enough to trigger rot? Are there any cheap and effective preventatives I should be taking?

any advice is muchly appreciated :)

Humidity
Air flow
Carbon filter fans are great ( wish I had one)
The bigger and denser the buds are, the more susceptible they are to rot. My growroom is in my basement where I have to keep a dehumidifier running almost all the time and when I have problems, its always with the very biggest buds in the crop.
Mold absolutely sucks balls and can threaten to ruin your crops if it starts to take in.
Mold makes the greatest smelling plant on earth smell like the rankest shit going. Nothing smells worse than a bud with budrot. When I look at budrot in a scope it is absolutely horrifying.

can You measure humidity in the room? Get a meter and watch how it changes depending on weather, temperature, time of day.. Your ladies look really well.

Thanks :)
Yeah, I have a hygrometer, my temps are good (24 degree) but my humidity is 62%
It rarely gets that high here, and it doesn't last long.

today is very overcast but temps are still mild. I've just never had colas as big as these ladies, and it's the first time I've ever thought about it.

Thanks for the replies guys

Don't worry at 62%, ensure good air exchange and they will finish nice and strong. Real beauties they are.

Is that 62% at an ambient reading? Eg on the tent wall?

What's it reading amongst the plants?

I've had bud rot before with an ambient RH of 55% and night RH of 65%. But between plants it was upwards of 80%.

Signs to look out for.
Premature pistil die off.............
Little single bud leaves turning yellowy brown and pull out easily without force....

The biggest problem with bud rot is it starts in the inside.

Let me link a pic to show you when I had it.

Notice the yellowy brown/green leaves on the bud those signify the rot.

Obviously this bud was also split open for the purposes of showing the infection too.

On a 4 plant hydro grow using a 600w I should have gotten upwards of 18oz but due to cutting early and the rot I managed 13oz.

Estimation of around a loss to rot of 3oz.

yeah that was taken from my wall, I'll try get some readings from in the canopy when lights come back on.
the ambient has dropped back down to 33% now, so I'm breathing easy again.

thanks for all that valuable information.
