Bud rot. Brown blight. Smokable?

Question is, if I catch it (within hours of it showing itself) and cut the buds off immediately and then cut the rot off the bud... Would it be OK to dry and smoke the remaining part of the same bud that I have cut the rot off of? Thanks.
