Bud drying fast

I harvested on friday and they've been hung in a dark closet with the temps constantly at 65-70 they seem crispy on the outside as of now but the stems are still bendy.

Can I start the curing process now or do you think they dried too quick?

what should I do?

All input is appreciated :leaf:

Wait until the stem gives a snap. This would be the appropriate time to begin curing. Hope some of that makes it down to my part of the 805 :)

I'm in The O.
Oh shizz, The ox the the the ox :hump:

LOL, well since we are neighbors help me out bro.

I harvested on friday and already my buds are crispy to the touch, I'm afraid that if I keep drying them for longer that they will crumble up when handling them.

My question is would it affect taste, aroma, and potency if I go ahead now and begin the curing process?

word! well... you can try to cure it now... if you find that there is too much moisture you can leave the curing jar open longer. but you really want to avoid it being too moist from the get go.

its really hard to tell without actually being able to touch the buds myself, but what I think is that the outside of the bud is crisp... there is still a lot of moisture in the stems, that will naturally make its way through...

heres what I say you try...

put it in a jar... put a hygrometer inside of the jar as well... face the readout of the hygrometer towards the glass, and then fill it up with buds for curing. if the hygrometer reads the humidity as excessively high, open the jar and allow the moisture to escape.

I figure that is the best way to cure it while it is still in theory moist, without creating a situation in the jar for mold to grow.

too bad the nature of what we do prevents us from being able to meet up for me to check one of your buds myself... a fucked world we live in. :(

True, I know what you mean these laws need to change.

Anyway I don't own a hygrometer but I will pay close attention to the buds and make sure I give them fresh air every so often. How quick can mold appear on bud?

you can buy a cheap thermom/hygrometer for like $7.00 at walgreens on rose
$7 buck ? was there today, not too bad i've been meaning to get one. I'll just go get one at the new one on ventura rd. it's closer.

Still tripping on the fact that we are in the same city, small world.

Did your power just go out too? :(

Really hope that doesn't happen again. My day cycle occurs at night

yes it went out a few times today, I woke up at around 4 in the morning only to wake up to electrical cables sparking on top of my trees, I thought it was a dream but when I went to go check I saw the cables had fallen. I think my whole neighborhoods lights went out.
