Buckets vs. Rubbermaid container

Hey guys,
I'm thinking of starting a grow with fem. white widow, using a 400 hps. Any thoughts on using 3 or 5 gallon buckets vs. one big rubbermaid container. I was thinking about planting 3 since white widow can get pretty big. also, how long do you normally veg w.w? I've heard just wait till its 12 -16in tall.

The Rubbermaid container is great for doing about 8 plants at 3/75" net pots. I would transition from seedling or cutting, to a Rubbermaid DWC or aero system. From there, you can decide when plants are ready to move to 3-5 gallon buckets. If using a sprayer in each bucket, go 5 gallon, you'll need the height. If going DWC, go 3 gallons, lighter, easier to move around. Not as much water to flush.. just a couple of ideas to toss about if you hadn't thought of any of those...

I've used both and like the smaller individual buckets or 5 gall. rubbermaids (1 to 2 plants in ea. 5gal. rubbermaid). My only real reason is if there is a problem with one plant you can move it or work on it with out affecting the other plants.
It is a little more work but its a labor of love.

just as Serapis said you can start a few in RM then transition them into buckets. I was using a RM and recently switched to a marine Igloo cooler. Its insulated and my rez temps have remained a steady 67 degrees even when my grow cab has gotten to 85. where as with my RM the water temp would rise to 74 or higher. cooler water is good. The insulated cooler was a very good idea and switch for my op. wont be using a RM anytime soon except maybe clones

I'm not sure what you mean by 8 plants at 3/75" net pots? also I should of mentioned that I plan on just using bubblerponics in the system. for the buckets I would get a decent size air pump and run 3 or 4 different air tubes to them. for the rubbermaid probably run 2 or 3 air tubes with rectangle air tubes on the bottom. low maintenance
