Bucket of Neem??

Hey !!

Has anyone tried dipping a large-ish (2 gallon pot) plant in a miticide bucket of dilute Neem. I would only usually do this with clones. No buds as yet. I really want to saturate it!

It's quite bushy and I can't spray it properly to combat the mites. It's in quarantine at the moment.

i cant see any harm in that. go ahead. should be fine. mix it up real good before hand tho.

That is pretty much best way to really get rid of any bug issue and that is submerging plant up to soil moving it up and down just be careful when standing it back up as it will be top heavy

The problem with this is that Neem Oil or any botanical oil does not mix well with water. Even with a few drops of soap added, and mixed enough to emulsify, the oil is not mixed in, most of it sits on top. So if you are able to dunk your plant, most of the oil on the top surface of the water will coat plant parts when the plant is removed. This results in heavy oil on some parts, and little oil on others.

With larger plants, it's actually better to spray the oil with a pressure sprayer, while shaking the sprayer constantly. With a pump-up sprayer, you can spray from several directions, and completely saturate the foliage with a fine mist. It's much easier on the plant, too, much less chance of breakage.

Plus, if you turn your plant upside down, the roots start growing the other way! (( j/k ))

In the end I just completely sprayed it. I'm only gonna dip my clones upside down in Neem mix. I've noticed how neem can still separate even with dish soap added so I always shake the spray when using. I did completely water the plant a few days later to help remove residue. I need to keep an eye on it.

Warm water helps. Once I spray the plant on the top of the leafs I grab the stems like its my ding dong and spray the bottoms in a jerking off motion to really saturate the underside. Just remember I have an exceedingly tough dinger so go easy on the plants.
I also like to shake the excess off then I also rinse with clean water but you may not want to do that. However it is working for me
