bubbleponics cloner questions

I have a 12 site bubbleponics set up, and i have to say it is not turning out like i had hoped, have a few questions if any of you could give me some feedback i'd appreciate it! 1st question...all that is in the cloner is strait water...am i missing an additive or something? ques. 2 where should the water level be? slightly under the net cups, or just barely touching the pots? ques.3 in my cloner i used rockwool cubes, and clonex root geland a small bit of superthrive! my last clones stayed green but didnt root, i gave up and turned the unit off and to the cups out....after that week i thought i wonder what it would do if i stuck the pots back in the cloner....by this time they were dry as and old ladies monkey, so i threw em in went up to check a week later and that'll be damn....2 had roots...but the others never did! any ideas of what i might be doing wrong?? thx:joint::-?

your rockwool stayed to wet. never gave it a chance to dry out and let the roots search/stretch for water. this is why when you removed it 2 still survived. if you have neoprene inserts for your cups you dont actually need your cubes. you can go with plain ph'd water or you could add a very very light dose of nutes. if your using a cloning gel you shouldnt need anything. I run my water all to the bottom of my cups and let the bubbles splash up. if you dont have a big splash throw a little more water in. hope this helped. if not throw something specific at me.

I clone with rock wool cubes and have no issues. Don't add any food as you want roots not leaf growth in the first 15 days. You need the stem exposed to the breaking bubbles to make it work. I use a hanger and poke a hole through the cube and push the clone stalk through the cube and out the bottom so it is exposed to the bubbles. You also need to keep the water cool if it's warm it will take forever. To cool I just put a small plastic drink bottle that I freeze in the water to cool.

Thx both of you who responded to this thread....i dont have any neoprene inserts....just net cup, rockwool, and they sent some hydroton which i cover the rockwool with. I have never seen anything about pushing the stem through the rockwool, and never have done that...think i will go upstairs and get them thru the rockwool and see if it helps at all...thx for the info btw. My water stays pretty cool....around 71 degrees. My crops have all turned out superb...so as far as growing it...i'm good, but this cloning has gave me a little challenge!! my last crop had buds the size of paper towel rolls, dont have a digital camera, so i phone shot it and it didnt do the buds any justice looking at those photo's! thx again guys and if ya think of anything else...pls. pass it on! Peace btw....they are on a 18/6 hour cycle if that makes any difference.

when I made mine I went to Home depot and bought water pipe insulators, there 3 feet long and grey, cost 1.25$. I just cut 1 inch sections and use them. Cheap and easy.

I thinmk i know what your talking about...thats a good idea...wonder if they male it smaller than 3/8 in size. and the water temp looked good to you?
