so I broke the main branch on my plant trying to lst it. it didn't break off it just bent completely over. It's in the 3rd or 4th week of flower and theres like a good 6 inch of foliage above the break. was told to just duct tape it, so i did. the branch is now sitting at a 90 degree angle and the fan leave and pre-flowers are pointing towards the light....so my question is, since i cant remove the duct tape because i already tried, will leaving it on fuck up the plant?

Dude all u had to do was put a splint on it and tie i have no clue wat the duct tape will do but i dont believe it will hurt it, how long ago did u put the tape on it and try using a razor, if u didnt put the tape on too tight it shouldve healed itself

put it on like 2 days ago...its kinda tight thats why i'm scared to remove it because i dont want to damage the plant even more....i know i should have just used a splint i feel like an idiot, but lesson learned i guess

True.... cannabis heals very quickly.

Just use a short wooden stick, pencil or other object and tape up the branch with electrical or clear tape. (Much easier to remove)

After a week you should be able to remove the stick and tape. :D

Stay Safe!

i would say use a razor and cut down the tape and try to remove it by the layer, use water and pour it on the area as u try to pull the tape off, should make it easier

I just tried to Lst my plants because I have a 7foot roof limit in my GH and some of the plants are at 4 feet plus the pot height which Im assuming is close to 5-6 feet. I had some success with most of the tops but the flowering branches are a lot less forgiving when you bend them since the plant is now hardening its branches now to prepare for the bud weight. I snapped some almost completely off, one strand of skin was hanging on, on some of them so I used some Duct Tape to line the stem back up to the rest of its body lol..I guess all I can say is if by the end of the day ( full day of sun ) if the plants leaves where the break happened isn't wilted or dead then you won the battle of not killing a whole top. Now as for the getting the duct tape off I'd leave it. You'd be pretty pissed if you removed the tape and ended up skinning the plant and or hitting the stem with the blade. The buds below the break will grow and most likely encompass the tape but as long as you don't hand over a whole cola to some one you can always take the nuggs off the stem and chuck the tape in the trash. Thats my plan of
attack

This is what your plant will look like after it heals where it bent over. Just do what the people here said and put a splint on it.

if you dont want to use tape when one of yer babies get snapped try using a drinking straw ,to use like a stookie ... using a straw has saved many of a seedling and snapped branches , the bonus being that it will expand when the broken branch heals and starts growing , and it is very easy to remove ,you can even cut them to the right size for your branch/stem

I have a thread about a a volunteer plant who's mainstem i cut in half with a shovel while killing weeds and it was all the way bent sideways. I just taped it up and it has healed up already. Cannabis loves a lil S&M.
