Broke seedling root

Hey. I had the seeds in a wet paper towel and when I was putting them in soil one of them fell out of my hand and the root broke. The root was about a cm long and broke about halfway and is dangling by a thread. This happened last night. I put it back in the paper towel and tried to line everything back up (thought maybe itll heal like a broken branch) checked this morning and it looks to have started to push out of the seed a little so I put it in soil.

If it was gonna die should it have happened already or is it still a possibility?

Yeah you’re in a tight spot, just bury it in soil and see what happens that’s all you can really do, and we’re not being pessimistic were simply facing reality. It’s better to expect the worse and hope for the best cause when the situation happens it’s usually never the worst.

Thanks for all the replies. It seems to still be alive but growing very very slow. It's been in soil for 2 days. I didn't plant it very deep. I gently moved a little dirt(I know I know) to see if any things happening and it looked to have a red tint just below the seed but open3d a little more. Hope it comes above soon.

What do you mean you didnt plant them very deep? did you burry the cotyledons and all?

Everything was under soil. Maybe a cm under. Was trying to keep the root together and not risk breaking it completely off.

Checked this morning and the root did break off, did a 180 and it started come above the soil. I pretty much turned it self into a pretzel. I guess I'll take that for now at least it's growing

Next time dig a hole, grab the sprout from the top, place it in the hole while still holding it and backfill it with a finger leaving the top above ground

It's barely above soil atm. Still facing down. But still looks to be alive. Not much change in last day or two

Drop another seed...
The only one of that I have...( also just sprouted 8 other strains)

She's up and open, seemed to make up for the last two days of nothing last night.

IF she makes it will clones from her be slow or stunted too?

Are you serious? Have you not taken any earth science as a child?
You didn't change it's genetic coding, you fucked up sprouting the poor thing.
God bless this planet, things don't look good....

I guess I'm bringing on Armageddon because they don't teach what happens if you break a seedlings root(or much else about plants) in public school.

No need to be a dick.
