I am really loving the LED setups. I wish that I could afford the jump to them. :)
I want to build a cob light so bad to replace my hid. But I started pricing a few months ago, I figured I'd have to spend around $1K to replace my 1000w hid, and get similar results in flower(cxa3070). Ive been lurking around the led threads reading up for a while now. Great stuff on here, super technical. My single bulb hid 1000w ballist crapped out on me,
second one in about 6 months. That's what u get when u buy used though. I was scared to death to put that 1000w DE fixture in the flower room being it's not air cooled and its hot as balls I'm my neck of the woods right now. But mounted last nite and Temps stayed at 79-80 F. I'm loving it. I have it about 32" over canopy. Looks like my room can handle it, thank god.
Popped a couple DOG fems this time. Excited to see how they turn out. I will not be training them on the first run though. Trying to find balls on lst'ed plants is a pain, way to many branches. I would love to find a nice DOG to keep around.
Peace, green217

Yeah it gets costly to replace a 1000 watt. I went with Vero29's and replaced my 400watt HID. Cost about $400 all said and done. I paid a lot in duties and exchange rates.

All in all my lights probably closer to a 600 watt now. Loving how cool the LED's stay it's ridiculous. I can pick em up when they are all heated up and hold the heatsink in my hand.

I had my 400watt lumatek crap out on me so I went and got it replaced at the hydrostore and they don't carry that brand anymore so I got a hydrostar one... well the hydrostar one fucked up my cable and made it super obvious my light was on all threw my house 5 channels went static-y. So that was that :) Ordered the LED lights when I noticed that happening. I'm lucky, I don't watch cable TV:) This ballast was on for months before I noticed what it was doing. Lucky I didn't have the cable guys here... or worse. I was running 12/12 from seed which probably helped not get noticed as much.

Debating bringing the ballast back to the hydrostore and seeing what he has to say about it. My lumatek was in the same space for a year and a half probably without causing any issues. While I enjoyed the crops I got from HID I don't think I'll be going back. Haven't flowered under this new light but the LED guys are doing great things.

You may want to tame the dog a little, maybe top or something to get more out of it.

damn temps are getting around 86F now in my flower room, gonna gave to put my 8000btu, ac in to replace the 6000 that has been in there for the last year, hopefully the extra 2000btu increase will make a difference. fingers crossed. Hard to find a lot of DE info on taming these hot bitches. So i'm just gonna change ac's and hope for the best. I do have a laser temp sensor, it was saying 80 or less on the leaves at the top of the canopy, so maybe they are ok. but my little room temp/humidity monitors say 86 all over the room, I do have a oscillating fan in front of window unit blowing the cool air over the plants. Plants like the light, but i want those temps down.

i just want to find a good pheno, short with out the balls. Then clone it. I'm willing to grow it out with out much yield till i find a stable lady that with tight nodes. I plan on sticking them in between the fireball bushes till i find the mother DOG fem. but i hear they have been known to stretch so i may just top for that in of it self.

Hey guys been a while just an FYI it happens but yet again no dog for me... They were all crushed n damaged. No telling Y. Smelly cherry pheno I got was a crazy looking one, but the buds had lots of og taste in the end. Looking forward to future bb grows.

I've got a purple pheno of engineer's dream just went into flower recently. It stretches a lot for possibly leaning dpq. But the smell is great, had one finish before, could have gave it more love tho so trying once more. It had looks smell, but yeild n length of high were issues.

But glad BB is still rockin. Love these guys!

Do not let the balls scare ya! I can tell u from experience that your mama dog plant may throw a few nanners but the trait clones out! Grown fromm seed u may find one or 2 balls but the clones from that same plant wont have em! It is wierd, but true.... Just keep it in mind just in case u find one that is pure fuego

I appreciate the advice, I will not be so quick to kill it if I see balls. And that is crazy that the clones do not demonstrate that trait. I do have a second dog I just germinated now. Hope to find that pure feugo as u said. Changed my air condition from a 6000 BTU to 8000 BTU in order to bring the Temp down a few more degrees, It started running around 86Fd in the room, ambient temperature. I've got a laser temperature sensor that I can aim directly on the leaves of the plants and see what the temperature is although the ambient temperature was 86 the lesves are never much over 80 and sometimes less than 80 somewhere between 77 and 81. But the extra 2000 BTU's should help out. Stoked about the double ended HPS working. I did have to break the dark cycle today on my plants, that sucks, but had to change that air condition out. Hopefully one day won't make a difference and cause me a bunch of stress. Not even going to say the word.

All of this DOG talk, about 20 min after I replied to your post this morning, i found myself in the fridge, grabbing a fem dog bean to begin germinating!

Another 20 minutes, or so, passed and I had noticed that the fem dog beaner looked lonely :( soooo i quickly snatched up 3 more doggy beans to germ! Yay

Do you think if I just grow a mom and cut clones off of it I would have a better chance of not seeing any balls?
Or at least better my chances.
Pic is of the dog fem
Surrounded by fireball clones. All still vegging.

Some pics of my flower room all fireballs at about 3 weeks of flower. Just droped that 1000 watt double ended HPS fixture over them. Got a little hot at first, but the 8000 BTU AC seems to have them tamed.
You know you got it bad when you have an extra air condition unit, an extra double ended HPS fixture laying around, and etc. I am by no means a man of money but I love growing. My mother is in a lot of pain and she loves that fireball. Says it helps her a lot. So thank you for that to whoever is responsible! Starting to get a few requests to make some oil for skin cancer, anybody know any threads shoot me a link if you would please.
Note: that 86F is down to 79F now. pic was taken the day before i upgraded ac
