Breathing

lately I've been feeling very depressed, irritable and anxious. I decided to go for a walk and I began to remember something I read online that said shallow breathing was linked to depression and runners experience a drop off in depressive symptoms and it has something to do with the brain getting more oxygen and therefore producing more bdnf. I don't know if that is exactly right but it's what I was thinking. So, I decided to walk the rest of the way focusing on deep slow breathing. Every breath focusing on filling my lungs slowly and fully. I instantly noticed that it felt unnatural for me and my normal breathing is shallow and weak. After 20 mins colours seemed sharper and smells seemed stronger, after 1 hour I felt deeply relaxed and happy and I am now in back in the house around an hour and my breathing has stayed adjusted to deep and slow and I feel pretty great. Try it out.

Yeah, i do the same thing actually. But I get nervous around people sometimes. If i super high in public i noticed that i will just stop breathing all together sometimes. I've been trying to do the same thing actually. This friday when my direct deposits drops into my account i'm buying some new rims for my bike. They're all warped, i know how to true my tires but once a spoke breaks they all seem to keep breaking. But maybe that's bc after it breaks i finish riding it to wherever im going instead of getting off which probably stresses all the other spokes. But yea....gonna get some rims, inner tubes, a new brake cable so i can use my front brake again, and a rear bike light so i don't get pulled over by the cops (it happens to me all the time....i hope its not bc im black) and start biking again. I think that'll help alot.

I have had a hard time "meditating" until I came across Taoist meditation which is a breathing technique. It is very practical and teaches you slowly, step by step how to breath more effectively. Check it out for more information...you can find this on public torrents if you happen to have certain piratic tendencies like myself.

Sorry about the racist-ass cops, though, seriously. I can't even imagine what that's like, but I'm going to guess that it sucks. immensely. Blah, I need sleep, toodaloo.

I've always been a "gym rat", read about "everything". Deep breathing has been a part of the "routine" for a long time. It improves "mental acuity", relaxation, and helps initiate sleep. Although, I hardly sleep, so I guess I need more practice. bongsmilie
