Brand new hairs on old buds

I am about to harvest one of my plants. All kind if amber trichs, no more then 60% though. I have just been waiting for the last batch of water to dry out before I chop it. Yesterday I noticed brand new hairs coming out of the buds. I just switched from cfl to hps. It's had an hps for a week. Has anyone ever seen mature buds start piling on new hairs?

Yes, definitely, especially the sativa-dominant strains I've grown. They seem to stall periodically, then go through mini-growth spurts, even towards the very end. And, considering that you just gave them a huge boost in light intensity, it's a perfectly normal reaction, and nothing to be concerned about. :)

Some sativa dominant never stop growing. They either keep giving you new white hairs, or they branch off from the top and increase the size of the cola.

Hello,

You should chop it like you expected. White hairs often happen after full life of a plant to preserve its life. Usually when those white hairs appear for the "second time" you will notice the plant start a new phase (Popping seeds) to preserve it genetic and her "life".

Sometime it can happen because you have a sativa dominant plant.

Have a nice day

Thanks all. I am still gonna cut it. I was just so surprised. This stuff smells like a blueberry city dump and I have a 10.5 inch cola that's makin me itchy so my "I want" complex is gonna beat out curiosity this time. If I can get my comp to work later I'll give some picks.
